Jeromey Clary out after shoulder, hip surgeries
Posted by Josh Alper on June 2, 2014, 2:49 PM EDT
The Chargers selected guard Chris Watt in the third round of last month’s draft and he could get an extended look at right guard this spring.
Michael Gehlken of U-T San Diego reports that Jeromey Clary, who started 15 regular season games at the position for the team last season, is being held out of OTAs as he recovers from a pair of surgeries. He had an operation on his shoulder after missing the team’s playoff contests with that injury and he also had hip surgery.
There’s no specific timetable for Clary’s return to action at this point, which could mean that he’ll be on the sideline until training camp. Johnnie Troutman worked with the first team during last week’s work with Watt on the second team, but the Chargers may look at other alignments while waiting for Clary to heal.
Clary is set to make $4.55 million this season in the final year of his deal, so there’s a possibility that the Chargers could wind up moving into the season without him if they feel confident about their other options.

Haha love it. Well at least we know there's no leak at chargers park.
And we finally find out why they haven't asked him for a paycut just yet. Can't ask a guy coming off two surgeries for a pay cut right? Gotta wait till TC at least

Cant be concerned with who isnt practicing right now. TC dont start til next month and i dont really care about OTAs or minicamps. All i care about is anybody getting hurt DURING these practices. The more vets held out the better if you ask me.
