I don't see any way we can't get 2 more wins than last year.

Early on, they will be picked on, especially the cornerback (I predict someone will be declaring him a bust week one, lol), but they should improve as the season wears on.
The watchword for this year is patience. And lots of antacids.sigpic

And which two rookies do you see starting? If we don't sign Flowers, Verrett has a good shot at starting opposite Wright, but that's no given. And I can't see any of the other rookies starting. Certainly not Attaochu or Carrethers. Do you think Watt is going to be starting? Highly unlikely.Adipose

The two rookies I am looking at starting are Verrett and Attachou....and I honestly believe they will get picked on early (especially Verrett), and improve as the season wears on.
Those guys weren't drafted to ride the pine, they were drafted to play, and I suspect they will play immediately IMHO.sigpic

Unless you are on the offensive line or a QB I think the starter label is fairly irrelevant and something fans focus on too much. Snap count per game is what matters most. A nickel CB or slot WR are often not labeled as starters but can see the field for a large portion of the game.1) Jason Verrett (CB) TCU
2) Demarcus Lawrence (OLB) Boise St
3) Will Sutton (DT) Arizona St
4) Jarvis Landry (WR) LSU
5) John Urschel (OC) Penn St
6) Shamar Stephen (DT) UConn
7) Brock Coyle (ILB) Montana

I have to agree with SFWfromESPN too. Ingram was drafted a lot higher then Attaochu and he was only a part time player as a rookie, yet I actually think he did a good job, even if he didn't show up on the stats sheet very much. I expect that Attaochu to get playing time sort of similar to Ingram, maybe a bit more, but probably not a starter. Hope I am wrong, since that would be he is an impact guy from day 1, just that it is a rare thing.

Yea don't see Attaochu starting at all. He will be a pass rush specialist. We actually have a very solid group of guys we can rotate significantly. I wouldn't expect any edge rusher to get more than 40-45% of the snaps other than Ingram.
Verrett was a pro ready corner coming out of college IMO (well as much as a college guy can be). He will take some rookie lumps, but I don't see him being a liability if he wins the job. This assumes he doesn't miss any TC time. If he's still not practicing two weeks into camp, all bets are off.
The one guy that could possibly be exposed is Watt if he wins the RG position. I do think Porkchops starts there though if Clary is cut or on the PUP list to start the year. Porkchops next to Fluker has some massive potential in run blocking. The pass blocking needs to be on point though if Porkchops is gonna win that battle.Last edited by Beerman; 06-20-2014, 08:59 PM.

If Verrett doesn't win a starting job, he will see the field in nickle and/or dime packages.
Attaochu will not be a starter. He will be a situational pass rusher. I think he'll see the field plenty, but only on passing downs.Adipose
