There are very few young, productive LT's that hit the open market. The only exception would be if their teams are in dire cap situations.
But when they do... it ain't pretty. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/free-age...l/left-tackle/

Alejandro Villanueva may be the only quality LT to hit free agency. He's 32. He'll probably cost $12 million (possibly more).

Still better to spend on someone available vs. Trai Turner. Crap we can draft a couple of guards in this years draft. One in second and one in third or such.

DEN drafted a good one in Dalton Risner, OLG.
Garett Boles, OLT, has been shit, but all the sudden he is decent.
We have huge problems with talent level + depth.
Draft one measly player who can block consistently,
and maybe things will start to fall into place.
We do not play modern football.

Yeah, I'm not a Trai Turner fan... certainly not @$11.5 million (next year's cap hit). I'd take that $11.5 million (no dead cap if cut) and use it elsewhere (@OC Corey Linsley-Packers). Probably re-sign Lamp and draft an OG. Then get an OT (Slater?) in the 1st round if Sewell isn't there. Is Slater worth the #4 pick...? Probably not.

If Sewell is not there @#4, I'd try to trade back with MIA @#10. MIA could use Micah Parsons for one of their ILB positions... and they have the draft capital to move up. It would give us the #10 to get Slater and another 2nd round pick. We could rebuild our IOL that way. And we'd have 2 solid OL (Linsley and Bulaga) that would add stable veteran help that know Campen's schemes.

          LT: Slater
          LG: Lamp
          OC: Linsley
          RG: Rookie OG
          RT: Bulaga

LT * we don't have one, and doubt we get one as Pips is under contract thru 2022 and Bulaga too big of a cap hit to move on from early.... unless you want to move on from Sam and not try him @guard
RT * Bulaga, Sam, Pips * think Telesco resigns Tevi and keeps his other two, and... 'til the cows come home

LG * Lamp * think he gets extended
RG * don't see Feeney remaining a Charger, and he def should not be invited back @center, as the lone hope for him is to return to collegiate form @RG.... there is talent in both the draft and FA this next offseason here.... take what the draft/FA gives you and don't draft/overpay for positional needs, as think we replace Feeney in FA and Turner in the draft

OC * Qberry, Groy * would be looking for an OC early in the second next draft as think Pouncey gets replaced by the such.... Qberry comes off the books after next season, and doubtful he is resigned

2021 casualties >> Pouncey, Trai Turner, Feeney, Cole Toner, Storm Norton, Tyree St. Louis
2021 carryovers >> Qberry, Groy, Lamp, Bulaga, Tevi, Pips

need to add FA OG and draft picks @the OC & OG, and prolly a coupla few day three/round 8 guys

think 2022 is the year we go out and get two more (bookend ?) tackles.... one via FA and one in the draft, as both Bulaga and Pipkins will close out their Chargers career @the end of next season, and.... think we replace Qberry @the OC w/an IOL draft selection then
5/11 Fuaga, 37 Kamari Lassiter, 40 Sinnott, 67 Bralen Trice, 69 Cedric Gray, 105 Jaylen Wright, 110 Braelon Allen, 140 Joe Milton, 181 Khristian Boyd, Tylan Grable, 225 Daijun Edwards, 253 Miyan Williams

We gonna get at least one OT. Tevi and Pip can be backups.... If Tevi is even brought back. But Bulaga will have injuries next season as well. He does every year but hopefully not as much.
And Pip can be cut/ traded without blinking. He is cheap.

                  32. LOS ANGELES CHARGERS

The Chargers’ offensive line has been among the worst in the NFL for several years now, but they were supposed to be better this season after adding veterans Trai Turner and Bryan Bulaga to the right side of the line. At least, they were supposed to be better in theory — that’s not what played out on the field.

Turner and Bulaga both battled through injury-shortened seasons and weren’t effective when they were on the field, either. Bulaga’s 61.6 overall grade ranked 29th at the right tackle position, and Turner came in as the lowest-graded right guard in the entire league by a wide margin (34.8). Those were the veterans who were supposed to raise the floor of what was otherwise a bad unit coming into the year, which made the lack of production from those two players hurt all the more.

Storm Norton came out of the year as Los Angeles’ highest-graded offensive lineman at 65.1 overall. In other words, the offensive line is once again a need for the Chargers.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.
                  The Wasted Decade is done.

Can we agree on Lamp is he worth 2nd contract? Bust or no? Woody?

My guess is that Lamp will be brought back.

As to whether or not he is a bust, believe it or not,
it should STILL be wait and see.

One full season does not provide the answer.

As another example of where we made exactly the wrong turn at the fork in the road, we made a draft day decision to select, then not select Garret Boles. Up until 2020, he was considered a huge bust, but is now first team All Pro.

I’ve gotta think that a good part of the problem comes down to coaching. Would some of these young O-linemen be further along if they were with a different franchise?
