I have a feeling that Herbert will carve up the Raider defense because it is so basic. Raiders have played great defense last three weeks but it was against Browns practice squad due to Covid, Broncos with Lock, and then against a really good Colts team but they just came off a huge win and Wentz did not practice. But Raiders will have a lot of confidence on defense coming in. Hopefully Perryman does not foul someone and injure them

Norton saw Crosby & Yannick mostly with help back then - not one on one.

Prior to the recent forced starts, Pipkins other opportunities were not good enough. It's not like the coaches went to him while Norton struggled.
But sometimes that next opportunity is the one. Would be great if he is just beginning and he has really great football in front of him. Would solve the RT concern. Time will tell.
Who has it better than us?

We cannot have enough offensive lineman. We need to draft another couple prospects regardless of Pip. Pip has figured out enough to be at least useful to the team as a swing tackle. Even a rookie who comes in would be behind Pip unless he's another slater.

And a lot of teams like to carry 4 RB (in addition to a FB) and sometimes (like us) 3 QB.

Plus, not all of those players are active on game day, so that changes the dynamics some too, depending on who is active or not.
Teams will carry either 8 or 7 OL on the gameday active 46. Offensive linemen don't get tired like their defensive linemen counterpart do. OL players can play the whole game, and even have duties on special teams.

Staley carrying 8 on the active 46 takes up one spot that could be used for elsewhere on the roster, like the defense which struggles.

Thinking back now, the Chargers have needed pretty much every player on their roster this season except maybe Stick and Jaimes. Everyone else had to play and play a lot more than anyone would have guessed.

Covid luck. Players that we're on the covid list for a couple of games are refreshed from their football injuries as well. I will be laughing if we smack around the raiders and then the chiefs in the playoffs if we get there.

Draft a RT in the 2nd round.
Pipkins gets a crack at swing tackle.
Storm is on speed dial... but not on the 53.

Building a great O Line goes a long ways towards keeping the defense off the field therefore improving the run D and points allowed.
Would rather score the same ppg and give up less than vice versa next season.
It is a key to keeping Mahomes off the field and winning division titles.
