At least they got him on the field some. He isn't playing a lot, but at least he is playing.

Since September 2018, I have watched people who are paid to have advanced thoughts about sports TROLL two Charger Fan Forums with negative comments about Forrest Lamp.

The offensive line is a unit.

It's all about reconciling the benefits of competition for snaps with the concept of whoever is out there playing together with their fellow offensive linemen.

After 1 game:

Good run blocking. Great screen game blocking (the pass that the DL deflected and almost INT was set up for another huge gain). Concerned when we go empty backfield without it being a 2 TE formation. Scott had some really poor plays in pass pro. Need to give a little more time for play action to open up downfield. Aside from a few breakdowns and a few mental error flags, they didn't do as badly as many suggest.

As to Lamp. He has had a lot of time off. Lets see how he develops. way too early to judge IMO.

Screens, short WR digs and slants, RB delayed release routes ... nice to see Whiz game plan for an assumption they won't always just stop an aggressive pass rush. More zone runs outside to utilize Eke and JJ's quick plant and one-step cut abilities. Nicely constructed game play overall ...

Scott was weak but survivable. Hopefully he improves quickly ...

Do you still throw the term "bust" around loosely regarding Forrest Lamp ?

I say he is part of an Oline situation that is constantly evolving.

Competition for snaps elevates play along the line and accelerates development.

Please don't mince words.

What are your current thoughts about the trenches ?

Valid point there, Pac. I would only add that if we're going to put "everybody into the pattern," then Rivers needs to unload the rock quickly...and agree with u on run blocking...it's looking better and better...

Yes, Lynn said "we aren't going to leave him (Scott) on an island". But they did just that frequently.
