Agree! The defensive tackles didn't get run over in Bradley's system...they are the same players. Perryman wasn't a Brandon Staley type player, who valued the coverage skills of White/Tranquil over Perryman's run stuffing (& too often lack of availability).

Frankly, i thought White struggled against run's between the tackles - too often he'd choose the wrong gap because he's not a natural inside linebacker.
His failure on the final Raiders run play was his season in a nutshell. Perryman was grossly underappreciated here; his injury in the 2nd half against KC
in 2018 - for the division crown - was a huge blow to the Chargers.

Too often, early on, i just thought there were more offensive blockers than defenders to hold up in a particular location.
Donald's insane ability to get off single and double team blocks helped Staley's defense immensely.

Sure looked similar to me. 2020 defense 4.5 ypc, 2021 4.6. You assume TT wanted to resign Perryman and Staley vetoed him. Perryman was never even on a roster coached by Staley. Best I can tell, the organization decided to move on from Perryman before 2020 final whistle even blew. The team had long grown tired of his unavailability. And his weakness covering TEs. There weren’t a lot of noisy protests in TPB about it either.

I agree Perryman was under appreciated, though. He was a solid presence in the middle that LAC 2021 did not have. Also agree Donald is insane. Whats weird is look at the best defenses, they all tend to have some insane players in the middle of the front 7. Yeah, its Weird. What insane player does LAC have in the front 7? Joey-sure, but on the edge. thats not a lot of help too far beyond his edge and its easier to neutralize a single player. Joey whiffed on a bunch of critical plays at critical times this year too, like in the Raider game, come to think of it.

Staley just needs some better players.

That guy right there, is my all-time favorite angry NFL fan. I believe he is watching one of Buffalo's late 60s team. I love how the coach drinks out of the water dipper, out of a bucket, on the sideline, near the wooden benches.
