I don't love Norv. I'm just in touch with reality. AJ was a dictatorial GM asserted full control over personnel. It doesn't make sense to blame Norv for the decline of the team's talent when he didn't have anything to do with it.

Butler was the mastermind. AJ fell apart as time passed.The complete AH fired a 14-2 coach over personal differences. You may have a different perspective but that's mine and it isn't changing.

I agree with you. My argument is that AJ was responsible for the rise and decline of the talent on the Chargers teams he oversaw, not the head coaches.

has Herbert ever had a guy like Jamar Chase? Dude had over 250 yards receiving and it's not because Burrow did anything special. Took a crosser to the house and was wide open on a bomb that Daniel Jones could have hit

A better HC would have taken that team two a couple SBs is what I'm saying. Norv wasn't it.

And Norv had input, like any HC does. How far that got him, who knows. I do recall him saying he wanted Sproles back......I assume it was so he could run him up the gut for nada which he did often.

Marty had the same team and he fell short of a SB too. Even more short and without the injuries Rivers and LT suffered in the playoffs.

What I find duplicitous is posters that say Marty was the epitome of a great coach and Norv sucked. Norv took the same team further without Wade Phillips and Cam Cameron.
