most college football players know that they will never turn pro, like what 80-90%? but if they can get a small piece of the pie before they move on to their next career that's a bad thing?
I’m not upset. I’m happy for the players not having their best skills stolen from them. But this does make the Michigans better and the Marylands worse.

And good luck to Belichick being at a school that traditionally is not a big NIL school.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.
    Let’s win one for Mack.

      Crosby will miss our game:

Maxx Crosby will undergo arthroscopic ankle surgery that will end his 2024 season after aggravating the injury last weekend against the Bucs.

A country that allows elite individuals to excel and be rewarded increases incentive and lifts the entire society. Every alternative to this “worship” delivers a lower quality of life overall.

As disruptive as the portal system is, I’m not for going back to the days of conscripted chattel system that colleges had prior to it. Get an impressionable 17 yr old kid to sign and you then own him for his entire college career? Naw - free men in a free country and all that …

as for NIL - also can’t go back. grown ups making billions off of kids that were given the equivalent of $30k-ish a year in in-kind fees paid? Free men offering their services for free wages and all that … freedom dictates greater reward to the contributors.

God Bless Freedom! Deal with the disruption, there isn’t a “better” way. the “back in my day” fogies can return to yelling at kids to get off their lawn.

The Michigan-Maryland inequity was fully entrenched long before portals and NILs. If anything, this gives 2nd string Michigan players signed as 17 yo’s an ability to escape and go where they can play and shine.

BB will be interesting, I don’t know how it will play, I’m doubtful but who knows.

Yep...or Brady for that matter...the way he kept retiring, then UN-retiring, then retiring again...

I'd been arguing about this with people since the mid 1980s when I finally opened my eyes to the situation and hearing that same broken ass bullshit about, yeah but they're getting a FREE education, it was insulting and absolute bullshit, then knowing that a lot of kids lost their scholarships when they got hurt and couldn't perform anymore, it was absolutely all kinds of ways fucked up and made absolutely no sense

Reminds me of a friend of mine back in the day...used to go to his house and I would lean up against his dad's freshly-waxed Chevy Chevelle...and Daddy-O would always yell at me, "quit leaning against the car!!!"

Had the best roster in the league. I don’t think there has been a team so decimated with injuries in the Super Bowl era?

Seems like all their injuries are in defense

I've read other sources who say Schefty has this wrong.
