He returns this year 20+lbs of hard muscle heavier. Minter expects a step up. The odds are good IMO that he will.
Tito has had a rough time with injuries. Hopefully the B Herbert effect takes over. He's a 320lb athlete.
Tart was a highlight FA in '24. Should be better in '25 We signed vet FA DLs Da'Shawn Hand and Naquan Jones On May 13 and they have been working out and practicing with the Chargers since that date.
Matlock enters year two after splitting time between FB, DL, STs last year. I think he remains on the roster but there are questions at what position.
Training camp will clarify the 53 roster probabilities.

** Good grief! I didn't mention Jamaree Caldwell! He'll make the team at DL
    THIS is correct . . . . . .

Our Dline will be better this year than last year . . . . . . . . . stop looking for problems. If you MUST complain - stick with the oline

DTs need a long time to get up to speed vs.other positions ... so Eboigbe still has a real shot to be a good player.
Oggy: I think we've seen that he's a rotational guy who might not be able to stay healthy.

They are in a much better position this year with depth. I can't even remember the names they would go to when injuries hit a few years back under Telesco ... guys who were never drafted and never caught on with another team.

Telesco would have spent $8 million to get a Tart type, another 6 million for a Hand type, and then go with waiver wirer guys and his own late round flops to fill out the position.
That's interesting. I've read on this forum that he's a wasted draft pick who has no chance. So a fourth-round pick who didn't come in and earn a starting job in his rookie year can still improve? That's unbelievable.

Bad news: PFF has 2025 Charger receiver group ranked a lowly 27th in the league.

Good news: That’s 5 spots higher then last years 32, after adding Harris, Lambert-Smith, Gadsen, Conklin, and Williams.

Yes, a very banishable offense. I just pray that the moderators don't see it.

If Rivewalk and I are no longer here after today, you know what has happened.

This defense vs this offense, on any one play, can only be averaged, and will not be reflective of its outcome with the actual personnel on the football field.

And then there is the issue of whether society should waste so many man hours so spent on a game, where the outcome is not important.

Besides keeping 6 while 5 were noted, Matlock doesn’t make the final 53.

I agree they keep 6. But Ogbonnia and Eboigbe don’t bring much to the team IMO. I even have concerns that the top 3 can be as good as last year’s top 3. Time will tell, this looks like the weakest position group to me.

    Matlock could be out, true.
DL coach Elston sounds pretty happy with his people and the fact that we got bigger. Minter said something like "lost two, gained three" And Borquez is just another guess. Me, I think we'll be better but that's just a guess. Training camp in pads, LAR joint practice, etc, etc. I always like the Chargers going forward but I think this year, it's more than in the recent past. Matlock could be out but he has to be clearly beaten out at two positions. In which case our worst FB and DT on the 53 are better than last year. I can live with that. (sniff)

    Defensive tackle (5)

Teair Tart, Da'Shawn Hand, Naquan Jones, Jamaree Caldwell, Otito Ogbonnia, Justin Eboigbe

Tart returns to a room that has three new additions. Eboigbe is looking to make strides after not being much of a factor in his rookie campaign.
