Tomlin had to have signed off on it. If he had objected I doubt the Steelers ownership would have overruled him. I should have said Steeler's ownership and HC Mike Tomlin get it' . . . . . . . . .

And I agree - the Spanos will not fire Staley until the end of the season - and maybe not even then. This just illustrates the differences between the Steelers (a successful organization) and the Chargers ( NOT a successful organization) .

If the Chargers want him - they might want to claim him as if he clears waivers, many playoff teams will want him

One detriment - if you move on from Staley - does Leonard fit the scheme of the new DC. Meaning, is he the type of LB that can play in a myriad of systems and schemes

Better to see if he clears waivers, and then try to sign him. I doubt they will do either.
