If I'm not mistaken, DeCastro is a guy the Chargers passed over in favor of Melvin Ingram.

I've always liked Melvin, but think it's pretty clear, looking back, that the Bolts needed DeCastro more than they needed Ingram.

You are correct. And I liked the Melvin Ingram pick as many thought he would go in the top 10 but went I think 17 or 18th. But all that spring in the buildup to the draft - was HOPING, that DeCastro would be there at the Chargers pick not even thinking Ingram would have been available. So at the time, I think I was good with Ingram but know would have been good with DeCastro.

There was compelling video of Ingram returning a South Carolina fake punt for a TD.

          The athleticism screams.
We do not play modern football.

I remember that. He wore number 6.

Nah. Ingram was a good pick. The Chargers have missed on plenty of picks but Ingram isn’t one of them

Also, at the time, conventional thinking was that you don't draft guards real high. That has changed quite a lot in recent years. And Melvin was considered a steal by many for the Chargers. He was a great pick.

DiCastro missed his entire rookie season due to injury but turned out to be a real stud interior lineman. Not sure how bad his ankle is. But our new assistant OL coach should have all the inside poop on whether it is worth a kick of the tires.

There is a recent article about his ankle requiring surgery and that he is considering retirement. It must be pretty bad.

Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

                        Steelers Oline will be younger.
                        IMV it will be fine.

Kendrick Green has a Dermontti Dawson vibe...great pick.

                        So...

                        Okorafor-Dotson-Green-Turner-Banner

with Finney, Moore, Haig et al as depth.

along with Freiermuth, blocking for Najee Harris.

This is going to work better and sooner than anyone thinks...ala Titans !
