and your content at TPB IS awesome,
but I do not give a shit about 2021 comp picks right now.
It's all about building our roster for 2020 !

I don't disagree with that - but I am trying to think like certain teams do (one step ahead) and if the Chargers KNOW they have comp picks coming in 2021 - that might allow them to be a bit more aggressive with picks in the 2020 or 2021 drafts to trade up if need be.

That is why I am playing the "comp pick game" -- if Telesco knows he has a 4th rounder in 2021 coming for instance - maybe he might be willing to use a 2021 2nd as part of a big trade package this year.

Just for the record - when it comes to the comp game - I also am still trying like heck to figure out how to spend that 6-8m bucks of estimated cap space the Chargers have:

Robby Anderson -- if the draft weren't so deep in WRs
Jason Peters comes to mind - you can drill draft OT if need be in Round 1

So to your point - I am focused on both actually. And lastly, you are right, I am not shying away from signing a guy this week and not get a comp pick

Yeah it is but......we always welcome extra picks so this is one way to get them and Denver and NE always get them and doubt we will sign anymore FAs.

Someone will sign Scho so we may get 3 comps. 2 for sure anyways though nothing high. Gordon's deal MAY get us a 4th at 8 mil a year.

Yes good for Melvin. I think the Chargers offered 3/30 - not sure how much was guaranteed. He got 13.5m guaranteed. Its tough for RBs. Jaylen Watkins signed with Houston.

Comp game : Gordon and Harris basically signed the same deal
Watt, Watkins and Phillips

Rivers should be worth more than Bulaga I would think

Chargers will get a 7th round comp pick and the Pats will get 2 for Brady -- one for Brady, one for Rivers.
