I don't know about Richardson, but Minshew is never going to be a long-term solution IMO at QB. At best they will always be slightly above .500 team with him at QB and they will never get past the divisional round in the playoffs.

I don't think they will be better than that with Richardson is what I'm saying. If Minshew isn't the long term answer, and I agree......neither will Richardson.

I still think Richardson will develop into an upper tier starting QB. I always thought it would take him more than one season, possibly 2 full seasons, and analyses are therefore premature on him. JMO. He had serious mechanical flaws that are fixable but will take a long time for him to reflexively not do without consciously thinking about it - and as long as he’s still thinking “mechanics” during a live play, he won’t be there yet. Its too soon to make conclusions on where he ends up imo.

Minshew is what he is. A good backup. No doubt Richardson is their future,

Richardson might be the next Mike Williams. Very useful when available but injury prone due to play style. Time for him to learn jui jitsu like Tua to stay alive most seasons.

He needs to fix his mechanics and improve his passing and then he can try to rely less and squeeze less out of his running. Herbie doesn’t try to power-blast DBs anymore - he slides. Its not a short project, just a higher ceiling if he succeeds.

Running QBs generally don’t last - everyone puts faith in the hope the next one cab do it and revolutionize the game - but I havent seen a next one not go down. Even Hurts, one of the best, gets hurt somewhat regularly.
