Looks to be drug related, probably fentanyl, as his dad says he was struggling with recovery.

truly horrible. most of the fentanyl related deaths are unintentional, i.e. not suicide.

Yep. He is known to have a substance problem though. Im guessing he got some bad Heroin. Laced with Fentanyl. There are some fake pills out there that are actually just Fentanyl. Like bars of Xanax and pain meds that are easily faked. Could have been that as well. Doubtful he took Fentanyl straight up. Sounds like he also battled chronic pain.
