My feeling is half of the Stick stuff is facetious.

The only reason why I brought up this Stick stuff is because some posters had us leaving Easton off the final 53...if they do, gotta wonder what will happen to him...they DID use a 5th round pick for him...

How do you know that? We've only seen him play a quarter in the pre-season of his rookie year. I admit that I wasn't impressed but I also admit that was a very small sample. He hasn't even thrown a dozen passes yet. Even if he won't make the team he's important right now as a "camp arm".

I say go with two quarterbacks, Herbert and Daniel. Give Stick's roster spot to a special teams guy or another depth position. If you're down to your third QB, the season is in trouble, anyway.

He played more than a quarter. Coaches positioned him head to head vs Cardale and Cardale roundly outplayed him in every way possible. I remember the panicked forum fear that Jones earned a roster spot after that last game and then shock when they cut Cardale. Stick is not only not going to be a starter, he will never be a #2 backup.

I don't cut anyone to keep him.

I didn't even advocate keeping him. I only said we really don't know much about him so we should see him play before we say cut him. I say that for all 90 of them. I don't know why people are so anxious to start cutting players.

As for Stick, I'd only keep him if he played well enough to be the number two. I agree with Berserker 76 - just keep two. There's always some QB available if the worst happens.

Unlikely that Staley keeps a QB3 on the final roster. Stick has to outshine Daniel before Aug 31 at the latest.
Failing that, he'll probably be safe on the prac squad if they want to keep him around.

Herbert goes down in the 4rth with a 7 point lead...what do you do?
Go with the schlep, on the practice team, that you picked up in week 5 off the waiver wire?
