He hasn't played well in the last 5 years. More importantly, he has been a bad run defender for that long. His pass rush has improved to a point, and that makes him look like a below-average player. But he gets pushed around pretty good in the run game.

IMO, Denver "robbed Peter to pay Paul" when they acquired Russell Wilson.

Giving up two #1s, and two #2s plus Noah Fant.. That will really put a crimp in the Broncos' ability to add reinforcements over the next couple of years.

I *will* say that having Russell Wilson improves their chances of winning. I just don't think it improves their chances of dominating.

Not for starter money. You have to get good value at this point. Paying him what we paid Johnson or SDJ would not be a good idea. We should have just kept Jones then.

Wilson is clearly better than the trash the Broncos have trotted out at QB recently but they are really gambling trading that much for a 33 year old QB who has not exactly lit it up the past few years. Wilson has 2 years left on his contract. If he rebounds and plays well, the Broncos are going to have to pony up huge money with the way QBs are getting paid and they can't build their roster with high draft picks. If he doesn't rebound, it's even worse because they can let him go and then will have no solution at QB and the same lack of high draft picks.

I still don't think that Joe Reed is the answer. If there were some niche that he could excel within, they'd have found it already.
