So Steve’s analysis begs two questions, for perspective’s sake if nothing else:
1. Who are examples of QBs who, in college, were good with their reads AND went on to have good NFL careers (or conversely tanked in the pros)? And
2. Who are examples of QBs who, in college, were not good with their reads AND went on to tank in the pros (or conversely had good NFL careers)?
Enquiring minds want to know. Cuz at 6 we should be able to get the next great Charger QB even if the FO/coach speak right now is standing pat (lies, all lies!). Rivers sat for two years behind Brees who when he was a Charger wasn’t that much better than Tyrod. See a similar game plan with a QB like Love?
Correction: just checked full season stats Brees as a Charger vs. Tyrod as a Bill, Tyrod wins hands down and without the benefit of LT/Gates. Fuck.
Professional Scouts, not Dan Patrick nor PFF, have Love at ~ #15 overall.
Does TPB really think the football world is oblivious to Jordan Love's 2019 TD/TO Ratio ?
It ought to give you pause, or at least motivate you to investigate further.
The QB position is changing. It is changing at the Pop Warner level. It is changing at the HS level. NCAA. NFL.
and he had all of those great polys and horrible plays all against really weak competition.,.... no defenses at all.....
Burrow and Tua did what they did against the best defenses in the nation........ huge difference....
of course mahomes also did what he did against teams that never even tried to play defense...... mahomes has also bee the ONLY QB from texas tech system to do anything in NFL..... all other seemingly talented guys failed miserably......
I think I would prefer Love to Herbert. However, I would really like to see us load up on Oline and Dline and LB in the draft and FA. Then do whatever it takes to get Trevor Lawrence in next years draft.

Eh, stats can be somewhat misleading though. When it comes down to it the Chargers were an LT first team at the time, 1815 yds and 28 TD's ring a bell? If it wasn't Rivers passing #'s would have been much higher. Not to mention Tyrod had already had 4 years exp. in the league as opposed to Rivers 2. He should have had a significant edge from that.
Imagine if Tua was completely 100% healthy. Dolphins opt for Herbert or a pass rusher. Tua falls to us. Drafted him. New o-line coach works wonders. O-line jels in 5 weeks. Tyrod starts for 6 games. Has consecutive bad games. Lynn chooses to bench him (Something Lynn had no balls to do before, holding his players accountable). Tua takes over and we go undefeated the rest of the season. Dream scenario.

Jesus, that’s even too dreamy for me!!
I just want to compete in 2021 and give the NFL hell in 2020

I think if Tua falls to us at 6, we would be damn fools to pass on him.

I don't think Loyal Lynn benches his old Buffalo Buddy T-Mobile even if he goes winless all season...he's THAT loyal...

How's THIS for Dream Scenario #2:
Tua is only 75% healthy on draft day, falls to us at #6. Doctors say he needs to sit out the rest of the season, but after that the prognosis is good. Bolts pick Tua at #6. Tua sits, learns the system, is good to go by draft day next year. But in the meantime, the Bolts, under T-Mobile tank the season, going just 3-13, end up with first pick in the draft. Bolts pick Lawrence. Now the Bolts have a QB battle between a now healthy Tua and Lawrence. Whoever loses gets traded for multiple picks and players. Bolts fill in multiple holes, now field a solid team, win the SB...

I dunno tc...if they had Tua on the roster already I dont think theyd go draft ANOTHER QB. How about we get the damn best "WHATEVER OTHER PLAYER" there is or trade down to get more players...cuz ya know going 3-13 means you probably have a shit ton of other positions of need.
