I think it happened when he ate Ohio State's lunch during his final season.Originally posted by TTK View PostHonestly, I never understood all the hype about Mack to be taken that high.
He wasn't much of a factor yesterday, but he seemed like a great prospect coming out of college in that he appeared strong against the pass (pass rush) and the run.
It will be funny as heck, though, if Oliver, an UDFA, ends up being the better NFL player than the overall 5th pick in the draft made by the Raiders.Last edited by Yubaking; 10-13-2014, 06:44 AM.

Measurables, and a great game against Ohio State. He has been a non-factor vs. San Diego based teams. Some said that he was 'gamed planned' for after that Ohio State game, but now he's playing with the big boys.Originally posted by TTK View PostHonestly, I never understood all the hype about Mack to be taken that high.

Isn't he supposed to be a project? A high-ceiling guy who won't be so good for the first couple of years but has the potential to be dominant at the position?Originally posted by TTK View PostHonestly, I never understood all the hype about Mack to be taken that high.Adipose

No, Mack was not presented as a project. Everything I read and heard was that he was a cannot miss blue chip superstar OLB who could do it all and would do it all from day one. Was supposed to be the one sure thing in this draft.
TGLike, how am I a traitor? Your team are traitors.

I would say that was Barr. I felt Mack was probably the most NFL ready 34 OLB available in the draft. I never considered him a project. Most college players come in as projects though. I just thought Mack was further along than most.Originally posted by Panama View PostIsn't he supposed to be a project? We seem to get a pick - high or low - like that every year, like with most teams I imagine: the spiffy idea of the guy at the NFL level quickly becomes eclipsed by the ho-hum reality.Originally posted by Boltjolt View PostNot me. I didn't like that we drafted him.
Glad we kept the right also-ran.

Mack is #1 on PFF's rookie of the year list. It's still early though. Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.
Let’s win one for Mack.
