Don't know if this has been mentioned (and I wasn't at the game either, sorry), but the FG attempt (to ice the game) blocked and returned against us for a game winner by the Eagles in 2005. Bizarro.

We had one of those in the late Coryell era agains the Broncos in Denver. We were lining up to kick the winning FG (I think it was in OT) and they blocked it and took it to the house. I never attack inanimate objects while watching football, but I beat the crap out of my couch that day.

A couch isn't technically inanimate.
Couch owners know what I mean...

Another contributing factor to that Pats loss was letting them drive down the field and score at the end of the 1st half. That was a classic 'why aren't we ahead by 3TDs' kind of game, where we dominated almost everything - including bonehead plays and player implosion. The McCree pick/fumble was really just the 'beginning of the end'. We were so much better than them that even with all those mistakes we still had the lead with under 3min, and had the ball and 1min down 3. Speaking of the final drive that led to the missed 58yd FG, Rivers missed a wide open Gates on the boundary that would have stopped the clock and got us about 15yds closer...he mentioned it in his post game presser.
Add in the 'dancing'/almost brawl, LT's poor handling of his presser, and the ensuing power struggle that ended up w/Norv and Fat Teddy as our 'leaders'...the franchise and fanbase is just now getting over that loss.
