Do the zombies ever change? Do they ever get super-powers or something? Maybe from mutating genes? I mean, they seem like easy targets if all they can do is walk and slobber. Has that changed in zombiedom?

EDIT: Genes can't mutate in a dead person. Never mind. Then again, dead people can't walk. hmm

The best zombie movie I've seen is Shaun of the Dead. I wasn't expecting it to be good because of the title and the picture on the cover, but it is a masterpiece blend of action and comedy.

This is what I think is going on...liking zombie shows/movies is probably about one's psychology more than anything else. I don't have a lot of easy relating when I'm out and about in the world - generally speaking. I get nervous really easy. But most people probably are fairly bored with their daily interactions - as their interactions have become mostly uneventful due to no particular stressers present . Therefore they seek out an alternate reality with zombies which present interesting and challenging scenarios in their manufactured conflicts to escape into. Basically if you're fairly bored with the ease of your current societal real-life interactions it might sense to be entertained by zombie stuff. That's my premise anyways.

Anyone else watching "Vikings"? I know that a lot of the stuff is CGI, but the production bill must be huge. Even if its only really a small number of real viking ships, but they actually make it look like they are cutting down forests to make this series. I like that they aren't strictly following real history or even Viking Edda, but sometimes I think the showrunners are getting close to the 'shark jump'.

My favorite zombie show atm is Z-Nation. Just the right mix of comedy, drama, and insanity.

I've seen most of the movies - World War Z unrated most recently - and Z-Nation just hits the sweet spot with my sensibilities.

Like a zombie Army of Darkness almost.

I was thinking about checking out Maggie sometime before the end of the month. Sounds like an interesting departure for Arnold.

Yeah, I can see the Army of Darkness thing. I also think the Ash Vs. Evil Dead series is a fun show; I'm glad that both it and Z Nation got renewed.

I had the chance to check out the first few eps of that during a freeview not long ago. Now I'm pissed I didn't. I love Bruce Campbell in that role, and I'm so glad he went back to it even though he loathed being pigeonholed or typecast because of it. Him as Ash is just one of those transcendent things I feel lucky to have witnessed.
