That last Devonta Smith TD against Stokes was a perfect throw and an even better catch by Smith. Stokes couldn't have played it better, but as a CB sometimes you give up the play despite playing perfect defense. Darrell Revis circa 2015 couldn't have done better on that particular play.
Earlier in the game, Stokes also had a ticky-tack P.I. penalty that was pretty costly, but besides that, he played fantastic. Mac Jones wasn't even looking in his direction for most of the game. Instead, he (and his NFL caliber WRs) dismantled Tyson Campbell (#3) and just humiliated Tyrique Stevenson (#7).
But honestly, if you watched the game, Stokes came away looking like a solid 1st round cornerback.

Assuming the Chargers' first round pick is somewhere between #12 and #22 (meaning no Sewell, Rousseau, Surtain, or Farley), who would you want if we decided to pick one of the following positions:
Edge rusher? O-line? Corner?
Mine would be:
Edge: Kwity Paye
Corner: Eric Stokes
O-Line: Wyatt Davis

really no contest there, as Davis clearly best fits what we do on the Oline, and whereas not sure the others fit so seamlessly into Chargers football ??
Paye def has some SupaMel similarities when watching game tape, albeit not sure he shouldn't gain some weight and play DE/3T as don't think he has the necessary bend and w/the quickness that is preferred for the LEO position, and not to mention we've got JoBo @DE.
and love Stokes, but he is more of a press corner, and may not be optimally used in zone ?? we might change our concepts some, but do think Telesco needs to make a statement in this draft, and that statement is that we're gonna build this thing right, and that means unless there isn't some drop dead gorgeous player in his stead, we need to draft a lockdown Pro Bowl starter for the lines, and....
that player is clearly Wyatt Davis, as compared to the other two.

He was asking for your prospects at those 3 positions. Players listed were his choices.

think Stokes is my CB of choice, and like Trey Smith, albeit don't think I'd have a problem w/Wyatt Davis, and.... got no one for LEO atm, and....
my first choice atm is a trade down, and am afraid there is a chance that we pick higher than 12
Primed To Climb: EDGE Kwity Paye, Michigan
I am ready to go all-in on Paye as a top-15 prospect in the class, but he currently sits at No. 40 overall in the TDN100. After logging 50 tackles, 12.5 tackles for loss, and 6.5 sacks in 2019 for Michigan after playing running back in high school, Paye was No. 1 on Bruce Feldman’s College Football Freak List for 2020.
At 6-foot-4 and 271 pounds, Feldman shared that Paye clocked an astounding 6.37-second three-cone drill, runs a 4.57 40-yard dash, 4.15 short shuttle drill, 11.3 60-yard shuttle, has a 34-inch vertical jump, and logs 30 reps of 225 pounds on the bench press.
Paye’s 2020 debut was dominant against Minnesota, where he collected two sacks and three tackles for loss. If he keeps up that level of play, Paye’s ascension will continue and he’ll be much higher on the board in our next update.

Judging from the athleticism I saw from Paye in that last game vs Minnesota, I’d say he’s got plenty of flex to play the LEO. He’s my guess for surprisingly insane combine stats. We’ll see...

I think I would go with Walker Little.
Pass rusher in the 2nd: Patrick Jones II
Corner in the 3rd and an IOL in the 3rd.

Pretty damn close to my current draft/roster build.
Actually had Patrick Jones in the 2nd for a bit.
I like picking up a secondary all-purpose TE to create mismatches and secure the outside zone runs.
What do you think of Zion Johnson (OG/OT) BC in the 3rd?
