If I was Brown/Tobin, I would try to trade 1-31 to the Texans for Tunsil and then hopefully Salyer falls to 2-63. If I needed to trade up 4-5 spots to get Salyer I would.

Here to hear your impressions on TDN's Brentley Weissman, former Chargers scout's mock draft.

Seems like run on CB starts just before Chargers draft slot.

There is a huge drop-off from Gardner #14 and Booth #16 to McDuffee #17.

            17. Andrew Booth, CB Clemson
starting outside corner, sure tackler with elite range
            49. Travis Jones, DT Connecticut
Linval Joseph replacement, elite nose traits
            81. Boye Mafe, Edge Minnesota
my favorite player in this draft
            119. Braxton Jones, OT Southern Utah
eager prospect willing to work, has starting upside
            158. Jelani Woods, TE Virginia
            similar to McKitty, blocking/receiving target
            195. Kevin Austin Jr. Notre Dame
in the mold of Tyreek Hill

Pretty good. Who would be your priority free agent addition(s)?

Okay, so are you benching Michael Davis?
I’d imagine Booth and Carlton/JC would start on the outside and ASJr in the slot.

Agree,.....If we sign one of those guys , CB becomes a mid round to later pick imo. Just some better depth would be needed.

can't have too many corners. someone is always nicked up or injured, ASjr has two concussions first year. what's protocol after 3 or 4? Davis took a step back, very disappointing season. Competition, whoever steps up and availability is best availability or do we want to keep reliving problem areas caused by lack of depth.......

Andrew Booth.... would be an upgrade over CHJ and the departed Casey Hayward, and.... wonder how much better he is than Josh Jobe ??

his NFL compare is Jaire Alexander, and have not heard of much if any in the way of injury concerns, and.... he does play a physical brand of football.

Booth is willing to come downhill against the run, albeit there is the question as to how well he wraps up as a would be tackler, and as one who had a missed tackle rate of 20 percent.

his playmaker mentality does cost him @times as he can be overzealous, but he does have anticipation/ball skills as an ex wideout, and is heralded for his football IQ and on field awareness

some wonder if he might be vulnerable to longballers, and eye suspect he is a tad oversized for a CB, and also question his value @17, as think the better strategy is to see if someone drops to us day two like ASJ did.... Kyler Gordon would be my first choice @48, but Booth def would be a complimentary player for Staley's defensive backfield scheme, if he were to make it to us round two.

George Karlaftis.... has a good chance of falling out of top 3 ED consideration, and could well be there @17, and.... personally, I'd pass.

someone had his compare as JJ Watt, he regularly gets heavy font accolades, that am not sure are warranted ?? his hand usage is top notch, his tool box is sufficient to counter most any Oline combo that he might come up against, he is def a pass rusher and a strong man/bull rusher and technician.... other compares for him are Ryan Kerrigan and Trey Hendrickson.

reading between the lines, you gotta believe/suspect that he still has some upside, he is referred to as the Greek freak (Yoros), and he has bouts w/production, specifically TFLs, and....

just not sure he is the total pkg, as don't like to come across the description of "adequate," which is not too far above serviceable.... his development arc is warped, as he didn't really build as could be expected off his freshman year.... he doesn't always shed blocks well, 'specially in the run game, and some point out he is not always @his best when attempting to wrap up ball carriers.

for myself, think dude is a bit of an oddfellow, as his game is a tad bit more linear than anything quantum, and am thinking to lump him in w/DeMarvin Leal, as a once upon a time top ten talent, who has fallen off a bit w/the scrutiny of our fellow pundit nation.... dude is a DE and not an ED, and just like Leal, he will tease, and will have some good if not great games, albeit just not convinced he isn't a hair below what the other EDs offer from this draft.... if the any of 'em are still on board @17 ??

and regardless, would lean WR over Karlaftis @this point.
