In a loaded tight end class, Schoonmaker may be the best blocker of the bunch. He’s relentless and has strong hands. He sustains his blocks and keeps his legs driving at contact. He’s comfortable on the move and hits his marks out in space. He’s a pro-ready blocker that could be an immediate asset to a team’s rushing attack. “It’s still his run blocking, though he does have underrated ball skills and speed,” Sayfie said. “He’s just so technically sound, and his upper body is huge. He uses that strength to his advantage. Michigan relies a lot on its tight ends in the run game, and Schoonmaker was a big part of that, especially over the last two seasons. His footwork is awesome, whether he’s blocking a guy straight up or pulling across the line and leading out front on the other end of the formation. As mentioned, his strength really helps him, too, and his speed allows him to initiate contact with a lot of force.”
Schoonmaker is a plus athlete, as he showcased the scouting combine when he clocked 4.63 40 and a broad jump of 10-7.
Schoonmaker accelerates quickly off the line of scrimmage to quickly enter his route. He has a high football IQ and finds the open spot to make himself available to the quarterback. At 6-5, he’s a big target that could develop into a reliable, safety blanket on intermediate routes. He’s a long strider with the size and speed to threaten the seam. He has strong, reliable hands and does a good job of snaring the ball away from his frame. Once he secures the catch, Schoonmaker runs hard after the catch. According to PFF, the Michigan tight end racked up 190 yards after the catch.
Complete TE.

So we only need to trade up to 17 to get Bijan. Do it, TT! I split this equation down the middle
- agree with majority, don’t trade up inside 10 as the cost is too much
- if Bijan is still there at 15-17, jump for him.

Top notch effort. Brugler came out today with his and couldn’t help notice similarities.
Trading back requires a trade back partner, and for all WE know, Telesco has been interested in trading back on occasion, but wasn't able to locate a team to dance with.
Likewise, maybe Telesco typically has identified the guy he wants when he's on the clock, and doesn't see five equal prospects, at least ONE of whom he would definitely have access to if he traded down a handful of spots.
So IMO, "He hasn't done it before" isn't an entirely persuasive argument. The circumstances involving the depth of this particular draft crop at the 21st pick may make trading down pretty much a no-brainer IF THE RIGHT TRADE PARTNER CAN BE FOUND.
They gave up 31 points to the Chiefs, who do that to nearly everyone. (The 49ers gave up 44 to them).
If Jalen Carter is there they probably will pass on Bijan, I don't expect Carter to fall past Seattle, though.
Bijan is just way too good to pass on for a lesser player at a position of need. They can get a defensive tackle with their late first-round pick or in a later round. Javon Hargrove was a third-round pick by the Steelers in 2016. This draft has good depth at the defensive tackle position, and the Eagles actually aren't as thin there as we are.
The Eagles are in a pretty good spot with Fletcher Cox, Jordan Davis and Milton Williams in starting roles in 2023. But Cox is 32 now and back on a one-year deal. And the depth behind the starting group isn’t great. The Eagles added veteran Kentavius Street on a veteran minimum deal, which was smart. The idea is to fill glaring needs so you don’t reach in the draft. But this is still an area the Eagles need to improve and we know it’s a position they really value.
The Eagles also lost Miles Sanders, so they aren't exactly set with a primary running back. To me it's a no-brainer for the Eagles if Bijan is there. It's scary to think about how much greater their running game will be if they get him.
They did sign Rashan Penny but he is always hurt, so we'll see. Don't recall the contract they signed him to so maybe they will bypass Bijan and get a RB later.
But I wouldn't, id pick Bijan.
They just gave up 35 points in the Super Bowl.
They lost Jason Hargrave, and a few others from the D.
I can see them passing on Bijon.
