and the difference is you'd draft TE or CB if it's a need pick, whereas for myself am drafting by player and much prefer Sweat over a maybe CB, and prefer LB, OC, OG, RB over TE round three.

and yes, am leaning re signing the both of Everett and Mike D. as placeholders 'til the draft falls our way @those positions.... of need.
Difference is I'm drafting a top rated player where we have a need, yes. Which is nearly everywhere after trades and cuts. We won't be drafting a QB early is all I can surely say, and I'd suspect not a WR round 1....and even then id say probably not. But I also draft for BPA at a not so much of a need but can use one as well.

Imo, We aren't likely to resign Davis or Everett imo. See you think we resign those guys,...and i don't. I think we more than likely,.... over them sign a OC.
Vato got beat deep again today for a TD and his effort looked lackluster. I'd bet they sign another vet CB before they resign Davis. He is very inconsistent. Always has been. He has had really only 1 good season, and of course it's his free agency season. Well this free agency season, he looks like crap.

Sweat isn't ranked near a first rounder ...and by drafting by player you are saying "my guys" as if no other players will work for us. I only want Bowers because he is by far the best TE in this draft , which isn't that deep this year and i think the TE position is weak on this team and a good TE would really help out Herbert a lot.

And he needs a better OC bad as well. I believe a vet OC helps us more than a 3rd round rookie. There are no Humphreys in this draft.

not in love w/Van Pran, but not against him either, and....

don't recall saying I think we'll resign the either of Davis or Everett, just that looking at the monies and who's available in the draft/FA.... personally would retain the TE & CB, and spend my draft capital elsewhere.

and not sure why you keep putting your words over my post.... never said other players won't work for us.... I was the guy that liked Werfs (safer bet by my take) over the Rocket Man (and his mixed reviews), and yes.... I like the idea of a NT for us.... alot, and.... he's a day two guy on most accounts.... he has crept into the first on some mocks, and.... hoping he's there for us round two.

and would gladly take an OC or CB in FA.... if they pan out (and given we can afford them), and.... still a 50/50 shot in FA.

also agree that Vato hasn't delivered the goods this season, and that Bowers (if he pans out) would be a big help to Herbo.
ED Matayo Uiagalelei, DT Dontay Corleone, OC Iapani Laloulu, CB Domani Jackson, OG Earnest Greene III, WR J Michael Sturdivant, LB Eric Gentry
TE Jelani Woods, LB Isaiah Simmons, TE Cade Otton, RB Kyren Williams, P Matt Araiza

idk man, i dont think if were sitting at 6 and bowers is there and another player like harrison or that LT from notre dame, we might get a trade call and trade back. my favorite TE in the draft wont be until the 4th at the earliest, dallin holker from colorado state, not many highlights of the kid on youtube, but turn on some csu games, and you can see hes a nfl te the routes, the hands, the physicality. i like him alot

If we get down to pick #6, there is no way I'm passing on him for one of those guys with this TE class. Newton wouldn't even be an everydown player.

If Bowers is on the board, he is my pick.
Yep. This team needs winners...Bowers is a winner and a playmaker. So is MHjr...OT is a smart pick...but its possible, I think, for better coaching/scheme to get more out of this oline.

for me, its Bowers and MHjr...with one of the top 2 OTs as a nice consolation if we happen to miss on both those stars.

If Herbert sits the rest of the season, which seems likely, we should have a fairly good shot at Bowers, though. Im in.
          Lone Bolt's Final Mock

Tyler Booker G, Josaiah Stewart Edge, Cam Skattebo RB, Mitchell Evans TE, Jamaree Caldwell NT, Isaac TeSlaa WR, Ahmed Hassanein DE, Craig Woodson S, Eli Cox C, Kalel Mullings RB

Sleeper day 3 pick: Tahj Brooks RB Texas Tech

Yep at 6 or 7 Bowers makes complete sense! We definitely need a RT & CB tho and always the DLINE!

Im not trying to put any words over your post. Im just saying you have a way of hanging on to players you like and when we dont draft them, you do go on about it for some time. If we dont draft Sweat.....you will mention it several times, perhaps for years to the effect of saying ...........personally i would of went with Sweat over player X........maybe even if player X is a good player for us.

Mentioned Danny Sheldon for some years even though he wasnt that great a player and didnt start. Stidham as well....who isnt starting material and ...hec i dont know where he is now. Im not ragging on you or trying to put words over your posts, we all have guys we like.... im just explaining what i mean by that. Its not anything personel and never has been.

Sweat id a good prospect, i just dont think our current regime, which id hope isnt retained,... will draft a big fatty as they never have....and those types only play but half the snaps of less. With a new regime, all bets are off and maybe they do like those types and id add him as a possible prospect. But personally i just worry about the big fatties North of 350.

You do have a very unique and sometimes confusing posting style which to me is interesting to read but at the same time .....for me anyways, im not sure who you really like or want till down the road you clarify it lol.

Id be stunned if they retain Vato. Not stunned if they retain Everett but he has to come at half price as we dont use him much and he is only an average TE. Bowers would be a Kittle like weapon, Everett is not.

MH Jr...if he declares with the NIL bullshit going on, ...he is a great player but do we really want to draft another first round WR with QJ as a first rounder, and Keenans money and Palmer in the mix? That would be an expensive possition. There are some good recievers in later rounds. TE class isnt that great this year. I like two guys that i think can start right away and Bowers is a good get.

                Just my opinion.

Getting more pics would be great and im all for it. Hope Telesco is fired so we get a GM who recognizes that. It wont be TT doing that. Hoping we get picks for trading MW and Bosa at the very least.

Trade Bosa and MW. Hopefully we get two 3rds. Or someone like the Niners , maybe Seahawks want Joey and throw a 2nd at us.

Wishful thinking there but never know. Someone (Seattle) gave us a 3rd for a clipboard Jesus.
I thought we got a 2nd for Clipboard Jesus? let me look ...

The Seahawks swapped the 40th pick in the second round with San Diego's 60th pick and also will send the Chargers a third-round pick in the 2011 draft.
                    so ... there we go.

Harrison won't be there at 6 if he comes out. If he's getting $21M in one year on NIL, he should probably stay and take that cash, come out next year. Rookies don't get $21/yr.

If he was on the board when we draft, there is no debate him vs Bower - run to the podium to take MH2. He is the best receiver in a generation, Bower is the best TE in 2024.

Now, if he's on the board and the phone rings ... depends how far back the caller is calling from and how much sweetener they want to pour on top. As I tell headhunters that call frequently, I'm not looking but I'm always pleased to listen.
