But I don't agree that ASJ needs to patrol the middle. I don't want Vato back... he may even get over-paid if someone believes in his up years and discounts his down years.
If you are going to bring Derwin up, you better have a CB that can cover the deep outside with no help. Kool-Aid would fit perfectly in that scenario. He can cover the inside slant (allow Derwin to play another assignment) and he can cover the deep outside with great boundary technique (his two best qualities).
IMO, ASJ is at his best in disguise (coming off outside route and jumping an inside route that the QB doesn't see) like he did vs the Jaguars. Playing off and keeping the field of vision in front of him is his strength. Playing press, turning his back to the play, and trying match outside speed is not his strength. He needs safety help over the top. Again, having a shut down capabilities on the other side, allows safety help to rotate to ASJ's side. The Tide does this a lot with Kool-Aid's help. But I wouldn't put ASJ @slot. Tackling is his weakness and concussions were a concern a couple of years ago.
