Staley didn't make the POs 2/3 years. When he did we lost in historic fashion. I'm not as optimistic as you until I see the roster.
However I have no doubt we'll be better next year than we were this.

Staley had absolutely no clue how to run an NFL offense effectively. He sent packing the most competent coach we had (Steichen) for his mediocre buddy and it only got worse from there.

I know i pimp Bowers and i will continue too. However, i know we have a new scheme coming and i know they want to build the OL for Herb and the running game. I do think Bowers can help there and help Herb but im also not naive to think Bowers wont be the pick and we trade down and draft OL. Pipkins isnt great, and i do believe we need to improve the middle but Pipkins can be upgraded too.I acknowledge.

I think the draft can be different and we do need picks, plain and simple. My hope is for Bowers but i get it...we need picks and OL and depth and LBs and a DT, etc.

I trust what they will do and im sure in the long run they will be right. But i also wouldnt be surprised if BB is the pick with a trade down. Moving just 3 spots lowers his contract 10 mil and we get 1 to 3 picks in return. But if not, cool. It all makes sense to go a different direction because we need so much.

Key is what we get in trades and im not certain we will trade Bosa before the draft as his cap savings is more after June 1st. Pip saves us 6.25 mil after June first if we trade him.

We need some moves to start, and possible contract extensions or some thing.

I don't know how anyone can look art our roster and say that TT was doing a good job, the media releases on him getting hired in LV consistently praised the charger roster as being the reason why he got hired, LOL...

With the many needs we have we're not drafting 2 TEs. I can see Sinnott as a blocking TE, maybe even FB. But not in round 2 or 3.
Who's is our receiving TE? FB and pure blocking TE go maybe in round 5,6 or 7.

That's the point in not drafting Bowers and trading down! If we were to draft Sinnott after trading down with one of our picks we could possibly draft Michigan TE A.J. Barner later in the draft, who Harbaugh knows well!

One thing we know about Harbaugh is he needs two really good RB's and two really good TE's around an exceptional O & D line!

Not doubting that we can or will use two TEs. Just saying we are not drafting 2 TEs. We have too many needs at other positions.

Doubtful we will draft 2 TE's but not ruling it out. Just have to see what they do in free agency before the draft.

In trading down we could address all those positions with the right kind of players! The master key would be to get as many picks as you could in the top 4 rounds! The Rams just proved with a franchise QB and good HC a rebuild with young players if done right you could easily be a playoff team the first season!

Is Jayden Daniels worth trading up to #5 for?

PFF's Big Board has him at #22 overall, but I've seen a lot of mocks with Daniels going to the Giants at #6. (We all know that QBs come at a premium, and Daniels will probably come off the board higher than PFF's #22 projection.)

I see five teams that are badly in need of a QB who might want to jump ahead of the Giants to get Daniels. (Plus two more that probably should replace their 2023 starting QB(s)).

6. Giants

8. Falcons
11. Vikes
12. Broncos
13. Raiders
14. Saints

16. Seahawks
20. Steelers

Which one of these teams would be willing to surrender picks to move up to #5?

IMO, the Steelers have seen enough of Kenny Pickett to know he's not a franchise QB, and backup Mason Rudolph helped them squeak into the playoffs, but was not up to the task in the Wildcard Round.

Would the Steelers' #20 pick and their 2nd and 3rd round picks - #51 & #84 - be a fair trade for the #5 pick?

The Chargers could probably get Kool-Aid at #20; or WRs Brian Thomas, Troy Franklin or Ladd McConkey; or OTs JC Latham, Amarius Mims, Troy Fautanu, Graham Barton or Tyler Guyton; or S Tyler Nubin.

Then they would have picks #37, #51, #69 and #84.

The good teams usually have one TE that is mostly used as a weapon and another that is used as your prototypical TE. Chiefs are an example. Kelce is usually out when the Chiefs call a run play. Drafting 2 TEs is not out of the question although I think it's more probable, they bring in a FA and draft one.

Right and why Bowers would be my TE1 and Wiley blocking TE who can also catch and make first downs.

Or Sinnott is a TE1 to a lessor degree than Bowers but that would be his role.
The Ravens have drafted two TEs in the same draft 3 times.

We will use two TE sets often. Sometimes three and have only 1 WR in and why I say we aren't drafting a WR in the first round at #5. We have some and can draft one later and won't be in many 3 WR sets unless we are losing and running out of time. I bet we carry 5 WRs in the roster.

We'll see .... Harbaugh will be inheriting most of Telesco's roster year 1.

The Rams had a down year because they lost key guys on D and the same on offense and injuries. They bounced back somewhat this year since they had better luck with injuries
and lucked out with the rookie WR. Stafford a pure pocket passer but has pretty damn good receivers.
