Sheesh, it’s just an opinion.
I’m much more interested in that 3rd/4th round RT some think can easily be as good as Pip right out of the gate (and hopefully has a higher ceiling…again, low bar for that lol if after five years and who knows how many hours of top tier coaching - not from the Chargers obviously - a starter can be replaced that easily).

We’re now back on the WR is the pick at #5 choice 😂
Who is the closest to Julio Jones as a prospect?
Was it some sort of swipe at Nick Saban? Nah. Jim Harbaugh said he just has a lot of respect for Julio Jones, and "I like jerseys."
But as Harbaugh told the media at South Alabama, there was another reason he wore the (tucked-in) Jones jersey.
"I've always had a ton of respect for Julio Jones," Harbaugh said in this video on Scout.com. "When I was with the San Francisco 49ers, we were hoping to draft Julio. Always have had tremendous respect for him, competed against him. ... I'm just a big fan of a lot of pe0ple. And I'm a jersey guy. I like jerseys."

Bowers (shoulder) should be fine to play in the championship game
Bowers has reportedly been dealing with this injury all season so he should be his usual self in the championship game.
Then...
Bowers was out for all the spring practice after undergoing shoulder surgery in February, but he is ready to return to the field.
Bowers sustained a high ankle sprain, which will require surgery last season.
They have great doctors to repair him. He has insurance.
2 of 3 years end in surgery. Hope that isn't a trend for him.
I think someone or somewhere it was mentioned how the medicals are so important to understand what your drafting. And I agree.
How dare I have him outside top 20 prospects, I suck.
Who has it better than us?

His lack of blocking prowess has me raising an eyebrow, especially given the "We're going to out-physical you!" mentality that Jim Harbaugh brings in.
For me? That's it. No other concerns.
I *will* say this, though... Bowers doesn't have the weight room physique that so many NFL players do. So on a subliminal level, I think it's easy to find him less intimidating. What surprises me about Bowers' lack of chiseled-ness is that-- when I covered the Chargers-- there were maybe four or five guys on the entire roster who didn't have 'cut' physiques, and that was all. A guy who isn't especially muscular can *appear* soft, even if he's not.

Looking into where Brian thomas Jr. might be drafted, a lot of teams before pick #23 do not need a receiver.
One draftnik mentioned the Colts (#15), but Pittman & Downs are a decent combo;
another mentioned the Saints (#14) , but they have Olave and a ton of holes.
Picks #14/15 seem a bit early for BTJr anyhow.

Have you mentioned that Bowers rhymes with flowers?
That should put an end to this debate.

If we go Odunze or Bowers at #5 instead of Alt, that just tells me Harbaugh and Hortiz think Odunze or Bowers is capable of being a Hall of Fame player, or Alt will be a bust. Either way, I will be excited about the decision.
But please...I don't see how anyone could possibly believe that Trey Pipkins is good enough to be our long-term starting right tackle. Deflect all you want by saying this or that website stated Zion and Salyer were worse than Pipkins last season. Zion and Salyer are going into the third season together. Pipkins is going into his sixth season. It's more likely than not we've seen the best of him, which isn't good enough.Last edited by DerwinBosa; 04-12-2024, 08:35 PM.
