That was a terrible trade to move down from 5 to 9

Now, if the Bears wanted to add a pick from a Fields trade and another 4th rounder in 2024 - might be tracking

So two thirds and a 4th in 2024 and the pick in 2025 plus the 9th pick

Actually not sure why the Bears would even consider such a trade. They could stay put and pick up a stud WR, TE, Edge or OT @ 9.
Especially true if Arizona takes QB. That would leave a top 5 guy @9. Doesn't make much sense if you ask me.

5] LA Chargers: Joe Alt/T/Notre Dame

At the combine, I consistently heard that the Chargers will look for an offensive tackle or trade down if they like the offer on the table.
ED Matayo Uiagalelei, DT Dontay Corleone, OC Iapani Laloulu, CB Domani Jackson, OG Earnest Greene III, WR J Michael Sturdivant, LB Eric Gentry
TE Jelani Woods, LB Isaiah Simmons, TE Cade Otton, RB Kyren Williams, P Matt Araiza

If the Bears are going to do anything OTHER than draft Caleb Williams, they'd be far better served to trade out of the pick.

Like (fr'instance) let's say the Bears wanted Joe Alt. They *could* take him first overall, but there'd be no reason to, since they could easily trade out of the pick (for a boatload) and still get Alt later.

Exactly. And they also own the #9 pick. With at least 3 QBs going in the top 5, it would leave the Bears in great position to draft a top 5 non QB prospect.

Just move down one spot and get an easy 2nd rounder from Washington who would gladly pay that price for Caleb. Then they can draft one of the other QBs at #2. Plenty of time to gather all the info for their #1 pick and who they want QBing their team.

If I were Washington I'd be happy staying at #2. Of course we don't know how they value the top 3 QB candidates. But that's not a move I would
make. Look at what happened to Carolina. Miami took Tua over Herbert. If they miss @ 2 the GM could say we didn't really have a choice.
If they miss @ 1 the GM would be in serious trouble.

Of course if Williams is really that much better than the next two QBs and that's the way Washington see it, then they would make the move.
But I don't think so. Williams has never played in a Pro Style offense. Neither has Maye or Daniels. McCarthy has and it's one reason
he's moved up the boards. For me Williams is still a risk.

Washington wants Caleb because of their OC and he's a hometown kid. They can live with Daniels as well..So, unless you are sold on Williams the Bears can easily move down.

OK, lets say the Bears are not sold on Williams. They trade with Washington. Washington takes Daniels, oops. The GM along with the HC, scouts and
the rest of the coaching staff has a say. It's not solely the OC's call.

I think you mean Williams. All I'm saying is Chicago has options...they can either take Williams OR move down for additional picks inside the top 4 picks. If I was Chicago I could live with either Maye or Daniels... but that's just me...
