In a broad-sense, I'm in that group of fans who believe defenses are catching/caught up defending the spread type of offenses and that it's the perfect opportunity for power run game to take advantage of these 230lb iLBs.
Roman is an extreme versjonversion of a run heavy coordinator who uses multiple versions of power.
Jim wasn't being generous or nostalgic when he offered him the OC job, he understands that even with a great passer of the football, it wasn't enough to just be an average power run team, we have to be elite to achieve our goal of winning a superbowl in the next 5 seasons.

QBs hold their value as well as any position and probably more.
I can see the plan being to draft JJMcC or even trade up for a preferred QB
and have them truly compete with KM and trading off the loser.
not likely but with so many picks, they gotta do due diligence on the QB position and KM hasn't exactly inspired any sense of stability at QB.
I personally would have traded him months ago but maybe they feel they can wait because of the plethora of picks at their disposal.

A QB who actually studies film, is a better thrower, better arm who can see the whole field,... and with a trade with a June 1st designation . ....a 38 mil cap savings.

the pick is irrelevant, they have plenty this year and they upgrade a important position. So I agree, draft JJ.

I don't necessarily dislike him, but he wouldn't be my QB not doing his best he can for the team. And knowing he wasn't I wouldn't have extended him.

Team Telesco needs a QB. So do the Broncos who don't have the capital to be able to trade up. They may overpay ....with a 3rd. Even a 5th....again, the pick is irrelevant. It can be for 2025 to make the deal sweeter.

But AZ won't do it, because they are the Cardinals

Like Justin Jefferson, whose rookie contract ends this season.

The Vikings' receiver is slated to receive a contract extension that will make him the highest-paid wideout in NFL history, according to ESPN. Jefferson's deal is expected to pay him more than $30 million annually, per the report.

No worries, Sam Darnold will feed him the rock this year.

            Boltjolt is onto something.

There is an outside chance the Cardinals take JJ McCarthy.

Murray is not the future for Arizona, but they are stuck with him because of his big contract.
There will be 35 million in savings if they cut him in 2026.

Let McCarthy sit this year, and compete next year.
It would be a good problem to have.

One injury and there goes 75% of your receivers budget. Look at what happened to us when Mdub went down for the season. I'm just through with the idea of spending this kind of money on any player that's not a top ten QB. KC is right in funneling these big ticket players out of town...

They are not funneling Chris Jones out of town .... but I get your point.

He has already turned that offer down, so says Shefter.

Until the QB situation is settled, I would hold off on signing the extension too.

Romen may be the OC but make no mistake about it, this offense is going to run through Harbaugh. This is kinda why I have been screaming for Bowers because he makes since. IMHO, he will be more important than any of the shiny WRs in the draft because of the way they utilize their TEs. I doubt we will use a slot WR that often, it will be a TE lined up in the slot vs a wr.
Time to put my money where my mouth is: Hampton will be better than Jeanty!

I have the feeling that, WHOEVER is it the Chargers select at #5, our reaction will be, "Duh! Of COURSE! We shouldn't have expected anything different!"

Fuaga? Duh! Establishing a dominant run game is the very first objective of Harbaugh's offensive philosophy!

Bowers? Duh! He's the ultimate swiss knife in Harbaugh's scheme!

MHJ? Duh! We just lost both Keenan and Mike, and Harrison is a generational (no pun intended) prospect!

And so on... Whomever is selected will meet an obvious and important need.

Hortiz is BPA guy and MHJ is the BPA in the whole draft. Figure out what you want to do on offense at that point.
But the smart thing to do would be to run 3-WR sets with 1 RB, 1 TE (probably Dissley).
                          #4.
Chris Simms does a WR rank on YouTube and thinks Nabors is better than MHJ. More explosive and just better at everything.

His second pick is Brian Thomas Jr.

MHJ has just been more hyped by the media according to Simms and he has him ranked 3rd.

Watch the video and his explanations. They are in depth.
