It depends on how much Minter values filling this giant void we have.
DeJean tackles and can play Slot Corner. He does not have the loose hips of Terrion Arnold but Cooper plays fast from all around athleticism and football smarts.
    We play modern Harball.

I don't believe they will do that.

We are talking about a QB. Not a TE. QBs get over drafted all the time and will again this year. If you want one, relying on other teams to not move up for them is flat fucking stupid when you are #3.
Normally it is, but I think it would benefit them if they "mess it up" by trading down and "missing out" on McCarthy.

This may be as overrated of a quarterback class as the 2021 Draft. Six of them in the first round? Come on.

Or Nabers, or Bowers, or Odunze.

We're not going to fix all the holes in one off-season. We can address them without trading down. Hortiz and Harbaugh have given me reasons to believe. The roster has players already on it that just need to be molded. The draft isn't the only thing they can explore to improve the roster. There's the second wave of free agency and undrafted players to bring in. As someone said, all the the trade down talk is a waste of time. We can discuss and debate this all day and night, but this is going nowhere.

It may be , but I don't think we have a Trey Lance or Zach Wilson in this group going top 5 either. All are coming from good conferences...which don't guarantee anything but still played against better competition.

Elliot Wolfe is still there and Robert Kraft is still the owner. They literally just went through this in the 2021 QB draft that had all these can’t miss prospects at QB in it. Bill refused to trade up and had to have the owner step in to draft Mac Jones at #15. If it were up to Bill he would have drafted Davis Mills later (This is all documented by the way)
He wanted Barmore in the 1st and ended up trading up for him in the 2nd.

I don’t believe you have to “Hope For McCarthy”, four QB’s have never gone in row before and I just don’t think Minnesota has to be desperate. These draftniks who continue to put McCarthy over players like Penix when he nowhere near as skilled have me laughing.
Do you think it's “possible” Minnesota has Penix higher rated than McCarthy?

I could easily see one of Maye/McCarthy on the board in the 8-11 range. It’s absolutely possible as these so-called draft experts have no idea how these teams view the QB room.
            Assuming
            1. Williams
            2. Daniels
            3. Maye/McCarthy (the other drops)
            4. WR
            5. WR
            6. WR/QB if Maye
            7. OT

Don't think it will happen like that.
A team will do what it cost to grab #4 or #5
              It's the other or MHJ

Let's say you're slated to draft in the #20 - #28 range, and you're VERY interested in Nix or Penix.

Do you just wait for your guy to drop to you? Or do you make an attempt to trade up for him ? If you make the attempt to trade up, how high do you go? (Or put another way, how much do you pay to get this deal done?)

It's really hard to say, IMO, what other teams picking ahead of you might or might not do, so if you're desperate for a QB you either step up, or *risk* losing out.

I am expecting a lot of QB-related movement in the top 20 picks, but no matter what, the Chargers will have access to an elite player at #5.

And they would of missed twice lol.

Now they are at 3. Get your QB ....don't screw around and trade back. I mean I don't give a shit about the Patriots, they can suck for the next 10 years for all I care but they are the the best possition right now.

Minnesota may rate Penix rated higher but they shouldn't. Dude is 24, had some big injuries , has zero touch on his throws and has a chicken wing throwing motion worse than Rivers.

I would put Odunze ahead of Nabers for us.
