For the last 2 decades if you picked the Ted Hendricks DE of the Year, ROI was around 40% that player live up to the pick. That actually a really good bet considering the odds when drafting prospects.
This year that player is L.Latu.
Over past 2 decades the Chuck Bednarik DPOY is about 50% ROI, another really good bet. And the Dick Butkus is like 65% ROI This year it's Payton Wilson for both awards. Perhaps if he falls to Rd 3, you go ahead and take him there. But this bet has medical red flags.
Outland Trophy Winners are also like 50% ROI great bets.
And it's Sweat-DT
The John Mackey best TE have been very low ROI like 20%
Sorry Brock Bowers. That means you
Trade down.
#11 Fuaga-RT
#23 Latu-Edge
#37 Sweat-NT
#69 Wilson-LB

I liked Peyton Wilson and talked about him on here.
I think he would be a great pick for our team.
I know for a fact the Jets are coming for Brock Bowers hard.
if you want Bowers you better take him at 5.
I think true impact players that Chargers need to be thinking about drafting at 5 are Marvin Harrison Jr. Brock Bowers Romeo Oudunzie and Malik Nabers.

Id be fine with Bowers at 5. Not sure he is there at 11. I don't care about his contract. His second contrsct will be much cheaper than Nabers.will.

do think Latu makes it to 23, but after Fuaga left him crumpled @his feet during the SB, tough guy to draft, for me anyways....5/11 Fuaga, 37 Kamari Lassiter, 40 Sinnott, 67 Bralen Trice, 69 Cedric Gray, 105 Jaylen Wright, 110 Braelon Allen, 140 Joe Milton, 181 Khristian Boyd, Tylan Grable, 225 Daijun Edwards, 253 Miyan Williams

Bowers 6'3
Since those other TEs didn't win award they didn't fit the condition to be included in the 2 decades award winners ROI.
My ROI was determined by Award Winner general production in the NFL. How often over past decade did that award winner become a good to great starter. Or was production lacking at next level regardless of reason.
BPA all day. Award winners in top ROI categories move up, but when they have red flags they move back down. Injury is more concern than character. Kids either grow up after falling down or they keep sabotage themselves until they hit bottom.
I would not drop Sweat out of his cluster for being a dumbass. I'm drafting a football player to be a wall with feet at the line of scrimmage. He can do that very well. He seem to like to play the game and be on a team. Draft him at #37 if he falls to that. Make Mack is big brother veteran and go kick some ass.

Looks like he has a very good instincts when defending. IMO.

Investment = money. Return = performance. With that in mind Gates would be #1, as he was a UDFA who turned into one of the best TEs all time.
Award winners do not impress me. Yards, catches, TDs, blocking, tackling, interceptions, sacks, pressure those are the things that count and should
determine ROI.
What do you say?
