I think we should have this thread through out the college season so we can discuss players and observations from college football with an emphasis on the draft. Ill go ahead and merge the 2014 draft thread into this one. Then most likely change the title back to 2014 NFL Draft when the college season is over.

Worst case scenario...Overall #1, with a broke-dik QB..., and no one to trade down. Still got to go with Clowney!
Will prefer Matthews or Lewan for OLT, and hope that there are a lot of good QB and CB available in the top ten, to make this happen.

Usually better to wait and see who reacts best to the new coaches as well as find out what college players have putrid senior seasons. It is just my observation, which might be biased, but every season for as long as I can remember, we go into the season thinking our biggest weakness will be at one position, and by midseason or so, it is obvious that our real need position is somewhere else.
I understand the need for Clowney, and it seems like a pretty good guess at this point, but if Freeney turns into a pretty good situational rusher, English and JJ play solid and can get some pressure on the QB in the base D, English can learn to rush the passer on the pass rush line and Williams can come on some down the stretch, with Ingram returning, I could see us being in pretty good shape at OLB.
There are a lot of other positions were we at the very least could use some depth, if not a true starter.

NFL considering not inviting ineligible players to combine
July 6, 2013 8:08 pm ET
The NFL is considering not inviting players who are academically ineligible in college to the scouting combine, a league source told CBSSports.com.
The move is being discussed because of the increased scrutiny on the maturity and commitment of the prospects entering the NFL, the source said, adding that if this measure was in place in 2013, a sizable group of players would not have been invited to Indianapolis for the combine.
This would make things interesting...Go Rivers!
