Apparently TPB is unable to read tea leaves.

Joe Hortiz said "...this year, I get to shop in the toy department."

He did not say "...this year, I get to draft in the toy department."

Expect one splash signing at RB, WR, TE, EDGE or CB.

Hmmm. I did not hear this, thanks for the intel. Hmmm indeed. I’ve always been more agnostic on the HOW than the WHAT, seeing many paths to Eden are possible.

I think it's definitely a down year in the first round. I think if general managers were asked anonymously, they would say that this year there are at most 15 prospects who would be selected in the first round of most drafts, and that there are more second- and third-round talents than the average draft. That's why I think it may not be a bad idea for Hortiz to trade out of the first round, get at least an extra third-rounder, and then use a couple of later-round picks in a trade to move up and acquire an extra fourth-rounder. I think we very well could benefit more with five or six picks between the 35th and 130th overall s********s than we will if have one pick in each of the first four rounds. I also would like to see us acquire extra picks in next year's draft by trading back in this April's. I think next year's draft will probably be stronger.

It was a quote reported by Jeremiah on the plane ride back from Houston.

In the first year, Joe said he HAD to shop in hardware.

Of course, the draft can be considered the toy department, too.

                I was just having fun.

These early TEs for example are no brainers.

There are huge differences in rankings and skill sets on midround TEs.

                Carry on my friends.

I am seeing a lot of draftable round 1 or 2 OTs. This is why I am hoping like hell Membou falls to us, and will explain this weekend.

The Ohio State University actually has TWO legit round one offensive left tackles !!

The very talented Josh Simmons, who got hurt is one.

Donovan Jackson, who filled in for Simmons played very well, and up to now, he has been thought by many as a round two offensive guard.

So many RBs and EDGE players.

                  The more you look...

Wood, I'd prefer to draft one of those two standout Georgia G's, Ratledge or Fairchild, or Booker, than attempt a T to G conversion project...

That does not do justice to what is happening here.

Detailed scouting reports, scheme fits, and talent level elucidates.

I will explain this weekend as stated.

OF COURSE a large part of the reason some prefer round two guards is that they are in love with exciting playmakers in round one.

I prefer no oline in first two rounds and wish to open the checkbook for those players.

this is nuts when you really look at our roster, that it still has this many gaping holes---one very successful draft, a very fruitful low budget free agent class, a wise pluck from waivers, two critical low draft pick trades in Molden and Heinicke, AND now after a full year of Hortiz and Harbaugh the roster is still a hot pile of steaming bull shit...

I cannot overstate it enough how bad the previous regime was at drafting in the lower rounds and when they actually hit on some guys they would let them walk because they were caught up doling out big money to washed up dudes that ate up the cap and made it difficult to keep your developing guys and depth...we see a lot of Telesco drafted guys still playing in the NFL and being successful on other teams, so it wasn't just the drafting that was the issue as they hit on a few guys but the plan for developing them was always super long term and then when they came up for contract years a lot of them ended up elsewhere...

this offseason Hortiz will continue to grow and build this roster, but it's unreal how much of a rebuild this team still is even if Harbaugh doesn't want to use that word...Center, RG, TE, WR, RB, Edge, IDL, CB, S...there is still so much work to get this team to a more respectable talent level, we all saw how they looked when they played stacked teams with good rosters and it wasn't pretty...

a lot of teams might have average starters at those positions but at least they have clear number one guys at those spots, we don't even have depth pieces at some of those spots let along clear number one guy even if he's an average starter...
