We could bring in F.A or two or make a trade, plenty of options on the table. The priority going into the off-season MUST be on OL this year above all else or we'll end up picking in top 10 next season.

In 2003, the o-line sucked bad.

      LT Damian McIntosh
      LG Kelvin Garmon
      OC Jason Ball/Corey Raymer
      RG Phil Bogle
      RT Solomon Page/Courtney Van Buren

      Brees: 11 TDs 15 INTs (4-12)

In 2004, the o-line was fixed via 2 FA's and 2 draft picks.

      LT Roman Oben
      LG Toniu Fonoti
      OC Nick Hardwick
      RG Mike Goff
      RT Shane Olivea

      Brees 27 TDs 7 INTs (12-4)

You're right, stats don't lie. And the argument that the oline can't be fixed via FA and draft is just not true. It was done 2003/2004.

Gosh, what happened next? Was drafting Rivers a mistake? And we will win the OL lottery this off-season?

Brees like most QBs is only as good as his receivers/Oline…. when he had Curtis Conway (healthy) he was pretty good.... when he didn't have much of anyone to throw to, the hounds came out.

not overly dissimilar from Rivers' situation this season.... would he be helped by not fearing for a jailbreak most any snap, and having a decent third option that would alleviate Keenan's double team, not to mention play calling that spread it around more to the RBs and TEs ??

was also under the assumption that the Rams (really) blew it by not taking Bortles @2 overall, and was always wary of Carr in that the book on him was that he folded under pressure ??

If we're gonna play the 2004 20/20 Hindsight Game... Larry Fitgerald would have been a great pick. Brees, Fitzgerald, Gates, and LT...? That would have been fun to watch! Maybe a couple SB rings...?

In the end, I'm not putting an injury prone (Tua) or an inconsistent (Herbert) rookie QB behind that OL. Recipe for failure... Fix the OL first. Roll with Tyrod if you don't believe that Rivers couldn't thrive behind a re-vamped OL.

Past in the past. Also there's this faulty narrative that this team hasn't been dropping FA $$$ and draft picks on the OL - it has.Tons. Why do they all seem to suck? I dunno, why do we have injured Pro Bowlers every season making a stellar paper-roster look mediocre on the field cuz street-signed backups. I don't have these answers, I just don't have faith we can make a vastly better Oline next season. And Rivers is not even in talks to come back, so that leaves us with Tyrod. Who I do not want to see starting for us but if he has to then I want the next Mahomes/Jackson sitting on the bench just waiting to jump in. I'd like Stick to be that guy, but realistically don't think he is. No to Tua, just no. That leaves Hurts, who should be there when we pick, no trade needed. Cuz we will need those other picks for beef! If our Oline is gonna be half-train wreck, half work in progress (reasonable to assume), then let's grab a QB of the future while we can. Tyrod, Stick, and Hurts can all make plays behind a broken Oline (some of those other highly touted QBs cannot...), that's a good recipe moving forward. IMHO.

Of course, I could be wrong about Hurts. Just would really really really hate to pass on him, then see him blow up big time for fucking NE.

We basically turned over the OL from 2016-7 and have been Subbing guys in and out since then
