Hurts has bust written all over him, lost his job to a freshman. Surely we can do better than him.

You thought Brees sucked too, so pardon me if I am skeptical of your QB judgement!

Fair enough. Although Brees only got better post surgery plus HGH. He did suck as a Charger, stats don’t lie.

But blue, we went over this hundreds of times (literally!) - was it Brees or the crappy talent around him?

The year before they drafted Rivers, it was Brees. He particularly sucked in 2nd half / 4th quarter, choking multiple opportunities to win games. Chargers draft Phil. Then voila - Drew suddenly got better while Phil watched from the bench. uh-oh, QB controversy! Alas - he tore up his shoulder in the final game.

After surgery, he refused to consider any incentive based contract, notably from the Chargers or Dolphins. That left him exactly one NFL team of 32 that would offer a guaranteed contract. Poof - fortunately for him he simultaneously experienced a vision-quest epiphany that he was sent by the Good Lord to bring hope and rebuild the devastated New Orleans townfolk from the hurricane/flood.

talk about destiny - he realizes his purpose and destiny and it just happens to be in the city of the only team in the entire league that offered a guaranteed contract.

This. ^ It was Brees. Just like now it’s Rivers. Happens, over and over again, on every team in every sport. Weird.

I didn't think Bree sucked his last two years with us, his first two yes. I think that's called getting better. Not to mention once again the OL was only ok and we needed a left tackle bad after his last season with us.

Brees had a very good year his last year with us - it was clear that he "got it". If he hadn't jumped on that pile he likely would still be a Charger today and PR would have been traded.

Alex Smith had 47 TDs his whole college career and he didn't do it in the SEC.
Maybe its the size & build. And mobility.
Alex and Joe are both 6'4 215lb. Carr is 6'3' 215lb

                      In college.
                      Joe is 78% 10.9 y/a
                      Alex was 67% 9.3 y/a
                      Carr was 69% 7.7 y/a

Joe is doing it in the much tougher conference.

Then you look back. Should Jax have drafted Carr at #3 overall instead of Bortles.
Carr although not great or amazing has been a better QB than Bortles.

Although Alex is more of a game manager, does not take as many risks with the ball. Low TDs & INTs
                      He still wins games.
Was Washington any good. He was 6-4 before injury.
The Skins would probably be winning that division this year if he was

From SF to KC to WAS winning record every season since 2011. Not bad at all.

Burrows is way better than them in terms of pocket presence and ability to make throws downfield.
And again he did it in a tougher conference on a bigger stage.

If you get a much better & more prolific version of Alex Smith.
                      What's that worth?
Who has it better than us?

Forget the QB's - fix the OL this year. Drafting in the top ten should let them pick two good OL

One OL, a rookie, won’t fix our Oline. That will take a longer time, and we will still need a QB not named Taylor.
