Does Fluker really run block better? Every once in a while FLuker will blow someone off the line. But most of the time he doesn't make his block. He loses leverage or flat out misses. Clary never blows anyone off the line, but he rarely misses, even at his worst. When he does miss, he usually does it pretty badly, but again, most of the time he does an OK job.
If OL have to blow the DL off the ball, and be driven downfield to be successful, then there are NO OL who are competent in the WHOLE NFL. Even the all pros don't do it regularly.
And lets also remember that probably the best run blocker the Chargers have had in the last 10 or so year was ROman Oben, who never blew anyone off the line in his whole career. But no OL I have seen suit up for SD did a better job of setting up backside cutback lanes. He just tied up the pursuit, didn't let the DE and OLB flow down the line, and LT had a ton of great cutbacks as a result.
Troutman and FLuker have almost all of the devastating drive blocks this season. BUt the also have the majority of the whiffs. And it is the whiffs that have destroyed our running game. You CANNOT sustain drives and run the ball if you are losing yards. And that is why the line is so bad.

I have determined with my superior statistical innalisys of imperial data, Yuba' s wet dream draft pick and a player we are guaranteed not to draft.

Bolts get a player who can be a difference-maker in the heart of their defense, like Haloti Ngata is for the Ravens. At 6'2" and almost 340 lbs., Shelton has a rare combination of power and agility. If you don't believe me, check this play out! Sean Lissemore is a good rotational NT, especially for passing downs, but in only 248 snaps (through Week 15) his -9.2 score, according to ProFootballFocus.com's system, places him 3rd last among eligible NTs. Time for an upgrade...Go Rivers!

As far as Shelton, he gets a sack against an OG with no technique and suddenly he is a top player? The guy put up a ton of stats early in the year, and has done almost nothing the last half of the season. Hard to be impressed. The guy has potential, but the guy is raw, raw, raw. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LtNX8G8otfQ
Lissemore is playing fine at NT. He is one of the few guy on our D who can really say that. If the right NT is around, fine, but we need a lot of other help on D, at ILB, OLB, DE..... plus help on O, so it is hard to be in a rush to replace Lissmore. As far as his PFF grade, been there before. Bunch of limy bastards who have never played football are going to grade if NFL players can play........ Give me a fucking break. Rugby, maybe. Football, no.

Let’s win one for Mack.
