I really think getting Maybin back is going to help this club. I also like that Gyrko is getting away for a few days. The time off should allow him to shrug his shoulders and loosen up a bit. Smith should be back by the weekend and Headley and Quentin aren't that far behind. The BP is very good and the SP is good, sometimes awesome.

If we can hang around .500 for the next few weeks, I think we'll be in very good shape.

MUCH better than last year.

I'm hoping Maybin uses more common sense in the field. I mean, he has to know that banging into outfield walls or diving isn't good for the body. A healthy Maybin (his wrist is fixed, his knee is better, and his biceps is now good) really can elevate our offense so I'm hoping he remembers the first law of helping your team....you can't help your team if you're injured!

When I heard last night that Gyorko just had twins I was thinking that maybe the anxiety of watching out for his wife had something to do with his poor start. I hope so for our sakes.

I'm a little surprised we're winning games with our offensive production. We're barely winning games (by one or two runs) but it's still winning.

Loving that bullpen. It is DEEP.

Can't really judge it off of one game, Alex. It could be that Petit was hitting all the corners with his best stuff. Even Babe Ruth had problems when pitchers were on their game. It's mostly the mistakes that hitters take advantage of, and when a pitcher is dialing it up, no one can hit him.

At least Gyrko hit one out. Maybe he's finally starting to come out of it. Maybin, Smith, and Grandal are hitting okay. Alonzo needs to start picking it up big time. Kyle Blanks has got to be sitting in NM licking his chops.
