Not to be callous but kudos go to TT for giving him the low tender when a lot of people kind of freaked out about it (including myself). That was a difference between $2.88 million/$2.02 million and $1.33 million.
I tend to prefer a coach that is a straight shooter. If he didn't have information on DX, he should of said he doesn't know about the extent of the injury. He clearly said it was nothing. DX was walking around with a wrapped knee 1 hour after they "examined" him and stood throughout practice by all accounts.
McCoy could have gotten bad info from the training staff, which seems like the most likely cause. Guess that should have been the third option. It is definitely an indictment of the new training staff that they missed a torn ACL (and simply iced and wrapped it up). Like I mentioned, it's a simple test that will usually diagnose the injury. The MRI just confirms the diagnosis and shows the extent of the damage.
I don't see what difference it makes. It's the difference of a few hours before the public became aware of the true severity. Who knows why he said what he said. It doesn't change the outcome and it doesn't change, materially, when everyone became aware of tit. I guess I'd like to know the context of the conversation. Have people actually heard audio or seen video?

Exactly. A simple "we dont know the extent of the injury". But he clearly downplayed it as nothing.
Either he was clueless and made up a coachspeak statement(lie). Or he knew the extent(lie). Or the new doctors are clueless.
I would think any half decent doc would tell the coach that an MRI is needed to confirm the extent of the injury
