But...Telesco also thinks hes a really good GM. Despite a team that has regressed horribly over his tenure. So it shouldn't come as a surprise to hear him sound ignorant about his players. I said he would stick with this OL weeks ago. Maybe add an OT.

And he's good at drafting. His Free agent grade ain't so hot though. I get that you don't build a team through FA, but you can still get a bunch of good players. Look at the broncos. TJ Ward was one guy I really wanted.

He can still cut him even though he is cheap. But cutting him won't hurt us on the cap at all

People wanted to cut Nick Hardwick too because he was hurt all the time in his first years in the league. I have no idea if Watt will ever pan out, but there is no reason to cut the guy now. At worst he is a BIG upgrade over Robinson as a backup. At best, he is a solid starter.

Hardwick was an actual OC with talent. Watt needs to go back to OG and we need to sign or draft a OC. He hasn't been that good at OC.

This. Let Watt settle back into guard, his natural position. The kid could probably end up being pretty good, at the least dependable and part of the rotation. Go out and find a real starting center this off season, not a converted college guard (Watt) and not a Bengals cast off (Robinson). A real, bona-fide starting center...not sure why that has been so hard for TT to understand.

I guess it depends on if the reason Watt has not been good is because he is injured or because he doesn't have the skill set. From all indications (including comments from Hardwick himself, ironically) there are a lot of people who think he does have what it takes to makes it as center in the league. But if he can't stay healthy, that kind of doesn't matter.
