It's kind of binary. On, or off. To think ANY SB willing season - after the years of laughingstock football this team has produced - as something OTHER than a completely joyous event is just...plain...stupid. You can call that my "silver" lining. It's funny how much power YOU give to the Raiders. For that team (any team) to diminish your enjoyment of something you haven't experienced - and yearn for so much - in your LIFETIME is, well, pretty Negative Nancy. Especially for the VP of the Pollyanna Club.

I don't give any power to the Raiders. I freely choose to hate the Raiders because that is part and parcel of being an old-school Chargers fan. If the Chargers are the good guys, then I choose the Raiders to be the bad guys. You can't have good without evil, Jedis without the Dark Side, Elron without Sauron, etc., etc. If you want to be one of these new agey Chargers fans, who think you can be a Chargers fan without hating the Raiders, kind of like some new agey Christian who thinks it's okay not to hate Satan, then by all means, go for it. But stop trying to excise such a significant part of the Chargers-fan experience for so many of us.
