This super bowl and last year’s super bowl will each have a starting QB from the Patriots. Meanwhile the Patriots have Jarret Stidham

Also Chris Jones ranks 2nd behind Aaron Donald in pass rush rate by DT. So the strength of the Cheifs defense is pass defense and pass rush. They have nobody who ranks top 10 stopping run. Nobody.

Its just terrible to go. We are 24th rank in run.
So let's just pass it all day.
The Cheifs were playing a lot of man and turning their backs. Leaving big opportunity on edge to run. Basically daring the Bills to run. And Instead of taking what defense was giving. They forced the pass all day.

Maybe just maybe adjust your play calling vs the team and scheme your playing. The run opportunity were there. They just never dialed up anything. And if they were going to abandon run. Then why not use more natural rub routes and stacked sets to get better separation since Cheifs were playing tight man well. Why not run some screens to slow down pass rush.

Daboll call a bad game. Bills game plan was bad. Essentially it was just we are going to pass, pass, pass. And Cheifs were ready. And didn't even try to defend the run. They basically said. If you want to run at us. Go for it. We are just worried about the pass. They pinned their ears back and ignored the run.

And the Bills got blown out.
Maybe that why Daboll only got a sniff from Jets and Chargers and they went another direction. He ain't it.
You're going up against an explosive passing game, and you can run for shit.

So you run the ball down their throat? That is a great way to lose if you are Buffalo.

Daboll did what he had to do, which was try and keep up with KC's offense. That is didn't work is more of a testament to KC's defense than anything.

        No.
I am not saying run the ball down their throats. Nowhere did I say that.
I'm saying mix it up better. Take what defense is giving you. If they give you a chance to run on the edge and you don't do that but instead pass into teeth of their defense. You can not win the game like that. But they tried and predictably failed.

When the Chiefs lose games it is because the other team slows down Mahomes and the offense by not letting them have the ball. Cheifs don't defend the run very well. They gave up 4.5 per carry and almost 2000yds during the season.

The Cheifs were 5th in completion percentage allowed. And 10th in QB rate allowed.

The weakness of Cheifs is run defense. And the game plan was dont run much. Don't mix it up more. Lets go pass happy and try and outgun Mahomes. Talk about losing before you even step out on field. You don't try and outgun Jordan or Kobe or Farve or Marino. You hit them in the mouth. You play keep away and make them get anxious to make a play, you frustrate them. You possess the ball and drive. You beat them up.

That is how the Cheifs lose games. Teams that try to outgun them, lose the game. You don't have Tyreek or Kelce, you don't have Mahomes. You have Allen and Diggs. Not only do you have less weapons, but you QB isn't as good as their QB. But your going to try and fail.
just dumb.and arrogant to think you can go one dimensional vs KC and win that way.
Who has it better than us?

You have Aaron Rogers as your QB, and on 4th and your whole season is riding on the next play, you kick a field goal to move within 5 pts?

Then to add insult to injury, YOU DO NOT ATTEMPT AN ONSIDE KICK to at least try and get the ball back?!?!

Two biggest bonehead coaching calls in recent history IMHO. Brady deserved another Super Bowl trip after that brain cramp. At least he tried to win, even if he wasn't sharp at all.
And giving up the touchdown by playing man right before the half. The coach and corner Kevin King lost it for the Packers. What a chokejob.

Obviously I want a strong/reliable run game but Herbert in a pass oriented offense has a great chance against both KC and TB defenses last night
It’s tricky because the packers completely threw away their running game to even find out how effective it could have been. Maybe they shut Rodgers down in that 4th quarter because they were predictable.

I think that’s where the Chiefs fool a lot of people. Their passing is pretty much unreal through the season.

However, look at their playoff game logs. Then you can see how many playoff games they’ve won rushing for less than 100 yards and compare that to how many playoff games they lost rushing over 100 yards.

^^ I bet that will blow a lot of people’s minds: the Mahomes/Reid Chiefs never won a playoff game rushing less than 100 yards. Every single playoff win they’ve had they’ve rushed for over 100 yards. The only playoff game they lost in three years was vs New England and they rushed for 41.

This isn’t that surprising either because Reid has always favored good running backs through his career: Brian Westbrook, LeSean McCoy, Jamaal Charles, etc. I mean, they spent their first rounder on a RB this year.

The playoffs are a completely different monster imo and a lot of the successful teams that pass a ton through the season end up rushing a lot more during the postseason. Including the legendary KC passing offense. It’s total balanced offensive domination during the postseason. If we want to beat a team like that, we need the same.

                Yes.
Use the whole playbook. Take what defense gives you.
If they are in a light box. Run them out of it. If they are in a heavy box. Pass them out of it.
                Attack their weakness.
You better have options to use.
If all you do is pass, pass, pass. And just give up on run as a wasted down. That is not fair to Herbert to allow opponent to tee off on him, while he tries to pass into tighter windows because opponent won't even pay attention to the run. They just pin their ears back and go after the QB all game.

Support Justin Herbert by mixing in the run game and slowing down the pass rush. Opening up better play action opportunity. and by building a great defense. That is when Herbert will be at his best. And the team will be at its best.

Justin Herbert took the Chiefs to overtime in Week 2. It was his first start as a pro.

Next year, Justin gets a re-match with a better defense against the Chiefs.

Agree, have to be able to do both as needed....

For example.... in earlier game this season between KC and BUF..... BUF tried to cover their receivers and KC countered by running for over 260 yards and dominating...... yesterday, BUF put emphasis on stopping the run and KC passed the ball all over them and used WR/TE speed sweeps and screens to mix things up..... and again dominated.... so whatever approach you take defensively, Reid has ways to beat you....

the only game KC lost this season (not counting loss to chargers starters while only playing backups though that was the best by far the Chargers have played in 3 games against Reid's backups) was one where OAK played out of their minds and scored over 40 points against the KC defense..... no defense can shut down KC's offense... they scored fewer points this year than last because Reid was teaching his team to run the ball better and to beat teams by dink and dunk.... while always knowing whenever they really needed to score they could go back to throwing downfield..... Reid made KC into a more balanced more scary offense because they can beat you any way that you do not defend.....

Chargers are going to have to score more points to beat them(when Chiefs really need to score, their offense cannot be shut down), but also be able to manage the game so we have the ball last and score last without leaving them any time to respond..... because it's almost impossible to stop them if there is enough time left..... Reid always saves some special plays for those last possessions....

Billyboy has never won consistently without TB12.
TB12 makes the SB in his only season without BB.

It is a QB driven league.

                          Not a HC driven league.

Why this was even debated made no sense to me.
