I think the plan was to keep an extra corner yesterday so he could go to the practice squad. Maybe the same with Kelley or Jackson.
Edit: Donkeys release RB Freeman after signing McCrary. Getting Freeman would seem like an upgrade to me.

      Trivia

Ogbongbemiga was a team captain and a 13-game starter in 2019, garnering second-team All-Big 12 honors and the team's Leslie O'Neal Most Outstanding Defensive Player Award with team highs in tackles for loss (15.5) and sacks (five) among his 100 total stops.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

How do we know they didn't try to trade him first? Geez guys. The NFL is a business and every team wants to maximize its returns financially and human capital wise. If the Chargers could have traded Johnson they would have. But when you get to this stage and teams know you will cut the guy anyway, they aren't going to trade anything. Unless the player is so outstanding that a team just cannot roll the dice on the waiver claims.
Like, how am I a traitor? Your team are traitors.

Congrats to T Billy for making it back to the bigs. Unfortunately, Urban Meyer is going to roast him.

I almost Used that exact name on twitter as "chatting" with a person who is apopoplectic over losing Tyron
and I almost got snarky and said "wow I didn't know they released the next JJ" but instead went for more analytical with "They released WR4 to get more depth on Special TEams which have been bad"

The response - I would take WR4 anyday. You can keep 6+ WRs

I just think you can only play so many WRs on a play - you can only have so many active in a game as it is and with Ekeler, the TEs - the need for a WR4 is not paramount to me. . And its only one game - you can always adapt the roster to match the opponent.

We often saw them using four WR's on plays during the preseason

Johnson made some big plays last season, however it was always sort of him or Guyton as the guy. Adding Palmer made Johnson expendable. I see our WR corps as top notch. Guyton could be a big play WR this season, I really like him over Johnson and Palmer is going to be adding a new element. Good luck to Johnson in Florida great opportunity for him to be a solid starter because where he is going WR's are needed.

Well, you didn't ask me, but...

                      sounds alright to me.

Right. I liked the way TJ could stretch the field but to make the roster as a #4-5 WR, there has to be STs value.
Staley is making a point of ST improvement. If he gets it right, that's worth a few W's.

I agree. He’ll be running laps in no time if he blows his assignments in practice.
