Staley was wrong about that play. James led with his head...PERIOD. I'm surprised Staley would defend that. Those people are right in their objection to Staley's comments on the play.

I couldn’t believe Staley blamed the Colts for that play. One thing to defend your guy but that took it to another unnecessary level.

I think Staley merely said that the intention of James was not to commit harm .... that it was an instinctual thing.

I don't think he was defending the tackling form.

Oh, that's right: he blamed the throw.

Example B of Staley needing to keep his mouth shut.

No one is accusing James of being Jack Tatum (other then Chief's fans, who went off on what a dirty player James is).

Lowering the head is a dangerous tackling form for all parties involved.

The fact that Derwin is in concussion protocol tells you all you need to know about that tackle

Thinking of Jack Tatum and the Daryl Stingley incident:

It was Tatum who had the pass bounce off of him in the immaculate reception play.
The bozo was more interested in leveling Frenchy Fuqua than defending the pass.
If he merely defended the pass, Raiders win.

Absolutely correct call by the refs, and you have to be a totally delusional Raturd homer to see it otherwise..

but all those teams are a collective 0 & 12 the last 4 weeks.

Two of the three are still in the playoffs chase.

Sorry, I just don't believe for a second that Dean Spanos is going to pony up the salary that Peyton would get elsewhere or even want to be here.

I doubt he's going to work here for the cheap salary all these Rookie coaches we always hire get.
and not to mention ole deano got a game ball so it made him feel super special like no other has ever made him feel. so he's gonna keep staley. and at this time I'm OK with that cuz staley definitely kept this team together thru what I thought wouldve been an implosion of the team.

It was Staleys intention but he is wrong. Intention or not, Derwin hit the guy in the head.

agreed it was TERRIBLE form. that is what you take to school to teach kids and players NOT to do. well let him take a week or 2 off and be ready for the POs and learn to light them up legitly.
