I like Staley better than i did last year. Fewer crazy 4th down calls. And he brought in a few good players which helped the team. I just wish someone would address the running game...tryout a few big pounders for the goal line etc, and get some super quick guys like Chiefs seem to have no problem finding. I like Ekeler and he is playing great, but want some guys to change it up.

I would say keep Staley unless we can upgrade with a proven winner, like the Jaguars did. But if its about money, then he aint' goin nowhere.

Head Coaches that are on top aren't looking for work.
Has Beens are no better than hot young risers. like Staley. It's a gamble either way.They aren't great until they are.
Right now I'm pulling for Staley's Chargers.

Overall, Staley's coaching reminds me of a saying that pre dates everyone on this board "You may win games with Brandon Staley but you won't win championships." Doug Pederson will likely prove that Saturday night.

Pretty much. What exactly has stayley brought to the table?
While defense has improved overall in the second half of the season, and is now creating turn overs, run defense is still abysmal. For a defensive guru, that has to be troubling going into the postseason.
As a head coach he hasn't been great decision making at critical times IMO.

Barring a superbowl run this offseason, how do you pass up on the experience Peyton or Harbaugh bring to the table?

Money, that's how. Spanos are just cheap and it's been evident 4 coaches in a row now. They were perfectly fine with hiring inexperience during Herbert's early career to follow Lynn.

I don't expect the owners to change, especially with Stayley making playoffs.

Having said that, Stayley has a chance to prove the haters wrong (including myself) in the playoffs. As a Charger fan, I throughly hope he does.

I don’t mean to diminish him at all, apologies if thats the take. Some games he comes up bigger than others, thats been him. He’s a tremendous receiver and I really wish he was playing.

He didn’t make a dent in the last game, which Jrock noted we got pounded in - maybe not the best evidence we can win without him lol. Fair enough. But we have won games without him making big contributions, we can do it again. LFG, its game ay and time for players we do have to show up.
