Running reverses is what WRs do, not RBs. He doesn’t seem to be gaining on anyone in front of him at WR. They won’t drop a better WR for a trick pony reverse guy, all the receivers can run a reverse, how often do they even run one.
they tried him and apparently didn’t like what they saw as a returner. I am predicting he’s another one of those good all around college players that doesn’t have anything specialized, and he isn’t great all around. Akin to the Curse of the Tweener, the NFL is a league of specialists - the generalist good college athlete is pushing noodles up hill to find a place to fit in the land of specialists.
Odds seem to be between PS and cut imo unless he can somehow stand out as a non-receiving ST player? Maybe I’m wrong but I think Reed making the roster as a RB/WR super combo is more wrong. It looks like in the last “year of the WR” draft, chargers chose quantity at back end of draft vs devoting an earlier pick to one of the quality blue chips and they are coming up snake eyes. Reed and Hill are both odd men on the outside. TBD…“Less is more? NO NO NO - MORE is MORE!”

If Murray becomes all pro, as I hope, this would be a solid draft. Even so, that 2 and 3 for him looks expensive. Potentially a starting OL and 3rd wr. Our last 4 picks have a ways to go yet.
Round 1, pick 6: Justin Herbert, QB, Oregon
Round 1, pick 23: Kenneth Murray, LB, Oklahoma
Round 4, pick 112: Joshua Kelley, RB, UCLA
Round 5, pick 151: Joe Reed, WR, West Virginia
Round 6, pick 186: Alohi Gilman, S, Notre Dame
Round 7, pick 220: K.J. Hill, WR, Ohio State
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

2nd Nasir Adderely
3rd Trey Pipkins
2018
2nd Uchenna Nwosu
3rd Justin Jones
2017
Forrest Lamp
Dan Feeney
Maybe Nwosu and/or Adderley have a breakout season(s) this year. But as of right now, I'll take an All Pro Kenneth Murray over the 2nd & 3rd round picks of the preceding three drafts.
