You guys rebuilt oline will be truly tested to have to start the season with arguably the best front in football. We can create pass rush without blitzing which allows us to drop our LB's into coverage, that is huge when going up against a very good QB.Our oline is very physical in the run game I think you guys will be surprised how we run the ball against your front 7,which will allow fitz to throw deep early and often.

Obviously the game will be determined on who controls the line of scrimmage the best, and turnovers will be key of course also.It will be a good test for both teams can't wait till gameday..

I think its a good opening game for both teams. Washington was a team that got better, Fitz at QB should help. Another year of Rivera. For the Chargers - stout defense will be a good test of the OLine for sure
Said it earlier. I think I would rather start the season against a non-conference opponent thatn a division game. And the Chargers get an east coast game where they have two weeks to prepare.

Actually, schedule makers did the Chargers a favor. And in some way, WFT as well. Beats the hell out of the Chiefs at Arrowhead or say the Cowboys at ATT. Not that a loss isn't good - but a Conference + Division loss - not the way to start a season. Behind the 8 ball...

How would we know...they have not played together yet other than practice. Big mistake IMO. When all the new pieces(including coaches and system) everyone should have been playing in the preseason. Recipe for a slow start.

That’s assuming that preseason means anything anymore.

Its a tough decision. But with the Chargers injury history - being healthy is pretty important.

JK Dobbins got hurt last night for the Ravens and is out the season. Its a risk. And you correct in that you can only simulate the game so much. But I am fine with the approach taken. Especially with Herbert, James, Ekeler, Allen, Bosa, Linsley, Slater

This game is too difficult to predict. We have the better offensive players by arguably good margin but are incorporating a new system and OL. They have the better DL period but id stack our DBs up against yours to say we have the better coverage ability. We have the DC that put together the #1 D in football last year that did that in a single year. Both only achieved 7 victories and lost 9 games last year.

Id argue we addressed on paper more of our glaring faults last year in a HC that failed whenever the bets were down and an OL that was statistically the worst in the league. WFT probably thinks Fitz will be a big positive to help their offense but outside of that Im not sure what else was corrected on paper?

WFT sat all their starters against Baltimore yesterday, looked like shit.

Packers got beat 19 zip yesterday and finished the preseason 0-3
not sure A-A-Rod played one down of preseason -

but they do have a bit more "street cred" and history of success the last two years

17 games plus the playoffs and SB. Its a long long season. Staley thinking long term.

And Baltimore won their 20th straight preseason game. Congrats to them?
