Didn’t have Herbert then so that point is moot. I’m pretty sure no Chargers players would be clamoring for another QB, especially in public video, with Herbert on the roster. All I’m saying is the time to make trades and bring in star free agents is when you have a superstar QB on a rookie contract. You sign those guys to 2-3 year contracts and by the time they’re up you have the money to extend Herbert long term. I see the Chargers with about a 3 year window right now to stack the team for a SB run.

General feeling on the Raider forum was that Waller was well enough to play quite some time ago; he was unhappy about contractual matters.
This might be true, but doesn't mean the Raiders can't smooth things over. He signed a 4 year contract in 2019 and has outperformed it.

Waller is under contract for one more year.
Typically, organizations do not budge.

The Raiders will not trade Waller to the Chargers this offseason, so it is a non issue for us.

I mean, McDaniels did trade away Cutler and had Orton replace him his first year as HC in Denver so it’s not the craziest thing that could happen. I highly doubt it though because Mark Davis is in love with Carr. Part of their coaching search depended on hiring someone who would promise to work with Carr as starter. I’m almost positive that’s why the Harbaugh fire burnt out.

Teams aren't sold very often so there aren't comps for value. Unique assets are worth what someone is willing to pay and we've gone through a decade of significant equity inflation. And the TV contracts keep getting bigger.

4 years ago the Panthers sold for $2.275B. NFL franchises are up in value since then and the Broncos should clearly be more valuable than the Panthers. And, again, it's a unique asset. Look at what people are paykng for NFTs!

I'd be surprised if there isn't a billionaire's bidding war for this team. There are just too many people around with too much money. Bezos can buy his team now, they can crew his friggin yacht in the off- season, too.
