Does anyone think our special teams are much better than last years? They kept some players just for ST but they still are not very good. We almost had a punt blocked and the missed FG was a close one too. Wrong coordinators?

They made some mistakes....but unlike other years, special teams play didn't lose them a close game.
When the punts are actually blocked, then we can point to it.
In this circumstance, it contributed to a first down and an eventual field goal (if i am not mistaken).

Not really. KJ Hill caught a punt at the 2. He's the guy we kept for ST. That was a bonehead play. Ty long almost got murdered on the 1 punt. Got the roughing call but it was close to being blocked. Viz missed a makeable fg at the end of the half that would have tied the score at half 14-14. Would have been nice to have those 3 points. He nearly missed the next one to tie it. I hear people saying the kicks were under pressure but that's what Mr. Swinton was supposed to correct.

why wait for that? We've barely punted this season. and the punter took a big hit on his one try yesterday

The missed FG was on Pipkins and Parham. Rusher came free from Parham. If Viz kicked it down the center it would have been blocked. He tried to slice it around the defender.
