Good teams shouldn't retain garbage players just because of where they had been picked; they cut those players even if it hurts the depth on the team. Also, Norton is overmatched at the right tackle spot. At some point, they will have to consider Jaimes in that role if Bulaga can't stay on the field, and they'll find they will yield far better results, particularly in the run game and redzone area.
Johnson is a WR while Pipkin plays a more premium position. And we didn’t cut Johnson to keep Pipkin silly.

        Here's a crazy stat
Last year there were 23 illegal shift penalty all season in the entire NFL
Avg of 0.72 per team for the season. 12 teams were not called at all. No team had more than 2 all year.

But this year, there have already been 60 illegal shift penalty in just two weeks, with almost every team having 2 called on them.

So maybe this was a point of emphasis in off season and refs are throwing ticky tack feet resets all over the league.

How do they go from 23 total in all of 2020 to 60 already in just 2 weeks into 2021 season?

Who has it better than us?

Jamieis should be moved to Feiler’s position with Feiler kicking outside to RT.

Feiler played well at RT for the Steelers and many of their fans thought he should’ve stayed as a tackle.
Tom Telesco’s Results in 9 years as Chargers GM:

          - 69-74 record
          - 0 division titles in 9 yrs as GM
          - Worst record among all active GMs with same tenure
          - 6th worst winning percentage among all active GMs overall
          - 2 playoff wins despite elite QB all 9 yrs
          - Team still has the same weaknesses (Oline and run defense) that it had when hired as GM in 2013
          - Consistently puts together horrible depth, expects starters to never miss games

So I understand why Staley and Co resisted the temptation to move Feiler after Bulaga went down. Feiler was doing well next to Slater and vice versa, and you would be making two changes instead of one with Feiler and Jaimes moving. But given that Norton was having issues with a LB who was only going to rush inside, it may be time to reconsider that stance.

By the way, I don't agree that the refs beat us with bad calls. I think we deserved all but two of those calls. We need to play with more discipline.

I still think this team can be a factor.
of course points are the bottom line, but when you give uo 180 plus yards it opens up everything on offense... its not just the yards...they were not 3 yards and could pdf dust.... they were many big chunk runs....... penalties also stopped Dallas drives...... how many punts did we force???

some penalties were legit but thew biggest ones were not...... The TD to Cook was legit..... spiking the ball in front of the defender was stupid and would have made the extra point a long one, but we would have either had a 4 point lead or a 3 point one..... so we should have either won or at least gone to OT......

TB had no problem scoring over 30 on dallas defense...... dallas had many people out, yet we struggled to score anthem though we moved the ball easily aside from an insane number of untimely penalties.....

I do think this team is heading in the right direction, .....Our offense is more organized and machine-like than it has been since the Coryell days.....even though we are struggling to finish drives with TD's...... the number of penalties was insane..... at least that has to be fixable.....

Our pass coverages are decent..... its our run defense that is horrible..... no containment on outside runs...... hit or miss on the inside...... lots of bad angles and bad tackling according to Sttaley..... so maybe that is correctable..... btw we were very lucky to not give up a free TD just before half on a crazy hot potato play....... lots of bad angles and tackling on that play.....

I hate losing to a not great team at home and falling into last place, but maybe this game will humble some of our cocky players into playing with more discipline.......and we will improve each week from now on..... the way we have played so far will make beating KC very difficult..... they will not be over confident playing us..... Raiders score alot of points so they will be tough too.....

This team is better then last year overall but it still is not as good as its needs to be.....

I think Diggs is probably the exception. He shut down Mike Evans last week. He may be for real.

Tyron Johnson through 2 weeks: 1 reception, 6 yards.

I'm more upset that some of those late round trades for OTs didn't go to us. A 6th to get Pipkins off the roster? Take it.
