He already won a handful of games doing it. I think loosing a couple won’t hurt. Also if you’re going for it, you better have a good play call and he does most of the time.

I don't believe I had EVER see a team go for it on 4th down from their own 22, unless it was the waning seconds of the game. Unbelievably brash. Unprecedented, really.

And notice how the Browns tried to out-Charger the Chargers early on by going for it on 4th down a couple of times, themselves?

I've never seen coaching calls on 4th down like this at the professional level. I grew up on Bud Grant football, where you get Chuck Foreman on all 3 downs and you got the 1st down OR you punted. And that was football, and that's the way we liked it. Brandon Staley ball blows my mind. Weekly.

Not to take away from Coach Staley, but those decisions to go for it on 4th down are a lot easier when you have Justin Herbert as your QB and Keenan Allen, Jared Cook, Mike Williams and Austin Ekeler available to you as weapons.
